I couldn’t resist posting more photos.
Dad,
These pictures show just a fraction of the smiles we’ve shared these past few years.
We’ll miss you terribly. Love you!
I have so many fond memories of Konnie, him and my dad were such great friends. Our families spent many holidays together. He will be missed. Love you.
My deepest condolences to Liane and her family. I got to know Konrad and Liane here in Leisure Village. He always greeted you with a smile, and I enjoyed many occasions here with them.
May you Rest In Peace with the Lord.
Unfortunately I don’t have any digital pictures, but I do have a lot of good feelings and memories. Uncle Conny, you will always live on in my memories: My beary big buddy uncle, who was always in a good mood and ready for a joke or two. I’ll miss you! I am with you all in thoughts and prayers. Petra with family
We will never forget you. In loving memory

Over years I kept this photo in my box! It was taken at the house in Glendale …Fresh Pond Road! And even if this picture was taken decades ago, the memories of it and the many many other great moments feel like they happened just yesterday!
Dear Uncle Conny … I thank you from the bottom of my heart for these many wonderful and absolutely unforgettable moments!
I can still remember my first time in the USA very well. I was six years old. We drove the Volkswagen 1600 all around … to the Amish people, Dutch Wonderland, Hershey’s Chocolate Factory and and and. Later, when I visited again and again during the summer holidays, you always welcomed me and whoever was there with me (whether Nicki or my friends Stefan and Markus) as part of the family.
Dear Uncle Conny! You made me a Yankee. The baseball game against the Angels with tickets right behind home plate sparked my fascination with the sport and certainly contributed to my working in professional sports today (since there is no baseball in Germany, it just became basketball). Speaking of basketball… Thanks also for that bright green Boston Celtics jacket you sent me as a gift back in the 80’s. This jacket was absolutely amazing and I loved it, even if the color took a little getting used to.
Berthold Brecht once wrote: “A person is really dead only when nobody thinks of him anymore.”
That will never happen! We love you! Sven, Nicki, Tim & Theresa
Say hello to dad!
Sven,
Thank you so much for putting into words your feelings and memories about my dad. Your tribute is bittersweet. I am honored that he made such an impression on you and that, in a very small way, he helped shaped your career.
I love reading of the things that I have long forgotten…Stefan, Marcus, the road trips, the jacket, all that stuff. (And since we’re mentioning Marcus… do you remember Action Park and that big water slide?)
(Read more in the next post…)
…And that picture! The backdrop was the inside of our garage! You probably remember that the garage door opened upwards, and it gave us a canopy. It kept the sun and rain off so we could be outside with getting sun burned or wet from the rain.
I’m sure you stuck out like a sore thumb wearing that Celtics jacket, but I’m sure you LOVED it!
Be well cuz,
XO Peggy
