Concerns About Cremation
Are there any laws governing cremation?
Cremation regulations vary from state-to-state.
Can two cremations be performed at once?
Never. Not only is it illegal to do so, most modern cremation chambers are not of sufficient size to accommodate more than one adult. Thus it would be a practical impossibility to conduct multiple cremations simultaneously.
Can the family witness the cremation?
Yes. You have the right to be present when the body is placed into the cremation chamber. In fact, some religious groups include this as part of their funeral custom.
How can I be sure I receive the correct remains?
Positive identification of the deceased is assured throughout each stage of the cremation process. Your loved one will have a metal coin with a unique number that stays with them though the entire process. Only certified professionals can operate our cremation equipment. All cremations take place at Mount Pleasant Crematory a State of the Art Crematory. Mount Pleasant Crematory is only crematory in New York State utilizing cremation sweeping tool called “Clean Sweep.” What makes their system different is that, unlike the typical wire brush used to clean out the retorts, their tool (patent pending) uses air to extract only the remaining fragments (ashes) of your loved one and not the remains of other cremations. They truly are on the frontline as technology in the industry advances.
Mount Pleasant Crematory located at 1 Old Cemetery Road Center Moriches, NY 11934.

Kind. I think that's the word for them. There wasn't anything they wouldn't do for us. They were wonderful and so appreciated.
