Gerald Eugene Montella, age 81, of Ridge, NY died Friday, May 3, 2013. Born December 29, 1931 in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Anthony and the late Helen (Connery) Montella. He served in the Army during the the Korean war from 04/04/1952 to 04/08/1954. He was employed by New York City Board of Education, NY as a(n) Assistant Area Manager. He is survived by his beloved wife: Dolores(Teichmann) Montella, loving daughter: Barbara Montella of VA, sons: Paul Montella of Little Neck, NY, Peter Montella of Broadchannel, NY, brother: Alan Montella of Richmond Hill, NY, and two grandchildren, Alexandra Montella and Matthew Montella. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at St. John The Baptist R.C. Church at 10:00am, 1488 North Country Road, Wading River, NY with Rev. John J. Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 5 from 7-9 PM and Monday, May 6 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY. www.rockypointfuneralhome.com
