Charles J. Burge

Charles J. Burge, age 92, of Coram died Saturday, July 16, 2016. Charles was born October 19, 1923 in Bronx, NY. He is the son of the late Charles and Susan (Swift) Burge. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean M. (nee DiGiroolamo). He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He received the Air Medal W/2 Oak Leaf Clusters And Distinguished Flying Cross. He had been employed by Pan Am NYC, NY as an accountant. He is survived by three daughters: Donna Matteo of Coram, Jacqueline Weston of Florida and Denise Shinn of South Carolina and his son, Charles Burge of Florida. He also survived by Eight grand children and four great grand children. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 9:30 am on Thursday, July 21 at St. Anthony Of Padua R.C. Church, 614 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY. Burial will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 20 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY.
