Dorothy Cannan

Dorothy Cannan, age 98, of Port Jefferson died Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Dorothy was born May 13, 1918 in Birmingham, Alabama. She is the daughter of the late William and Gladys (Hitch) Cannan. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Cannan in 1990. She was a Professor at Adelphi University in New York. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Yen of Port Jefferson, NY. She also has one grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Committal prayers will be offered at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, NY Monday, April 10th. Family and friends will meet at the Rocky Point Funeral Home 603 Route 25A Rocky Point, NY 11778 at 10AM. Burial will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
