Joan Smith, age 82, of Ridge died Sunday, June 4, 2017. Joan was born August 15, 1934 in Oceanside, NY. She is the daughter of the late Joseph DeMaio and Anna (Montalbano) DeMaio. She is survived by one daughter: Laura Jerome of Rocky Point, NY and three sons: Patrick Smith of New York City, NY, Raymond Smith of St. James, NY and Brian Smith of Houston, TX,; Her brother: Richard DeMaio of Rhode Island; She also has seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving companion, Nigel Bruce. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9:30 am on Thursday, June 8 at St. Anthony Of Padua R.C. Church, 614 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY. A private cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, June 7 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY.
