Walter E. Johannesen

Walter E. Johannesen, age 82, of St. James, NY died Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Walter was born November 5, 1935 in Bronx, NY. He is the son of the late Walter and the late Olive (Braithwaite) Johannesen. He served in the United States Army. He was employed as a Carpenter by the Carpenters Union in New York City, NY. He is survived by his wife: Grace (Calia) Johannesen , one daughter: Dawn Murphy of St. James, NY and two sons: Richard Johannesen of Rocky Point, NY and Kenneth Johannesen of Deer Park, NY. Two sisters: Lynn Jackmin and JoAnn Lehmkuhl both of New Jersey and six grandchildren. Family and friend will be gathering at the Rocky Point Funeral Home 603 Route 25A Rocky Point, NY 11778 at 10AM Thursday. April 19th. The funeral service and Military Honors will be held 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 19 at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton. Burial will follow.
