Betty Jean Blakeney, age 80, of Calverton, New York died Monday, March 22, 2021. Betty Jean was born March 29, 1940 in Charleston, South Carolina. She is the daughter of the late James and the late Nola (Truluck) Hinnant. She was employed as a Nurse's Aide in John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, Port Jefferson, New York. She is survived by her loving children, Catherine Heller of Wading River, New York, Grover Morgan of Calverton, New York, Paul Blakeney of Calverton, New York, James Morgan of Rocky Point, New York and Kenny Morgan of Riverhead, New York. She is the dear sister of Sally Miller of Georgia, Jacqueline Ryder of New Jersey, and James Hinnant of Georgia. Betty Jean was also the cherished grandmother of Brett Heller and Paige Heller. Dear Grover,Cathy, James and Paul,
I’m sure I don’t have to tell you what a magnificent woman your mother was. I for one am truly blessed and honored to have been one of her friends for the past 50 years. I treasure the New Year’s that we spent together, And all of the weekends we spent together throughout the years. Although our phone calls were far and few between towards the end, I know that she had a place in her heart for Danny and I. Betty Jean will live on forever in my heart until my heart stops beating. As far as you kids go I will always be here for you….you all have my number call me anytime. Love u guys, I know the pain of loosing a Mom it’s a pain like no other….but u need to be strong and carry on with all she would wish for you.
