Laura Lee Cavanagh, 60, of Port Jefferson, New York, passed away peacefully with her family around her on July 7, 2023. Laura was born in Oswego, New York on March 23, 1963 to Patrick A. Cavanagh and Gail E. Cavanagh. She worked as a social worker for Little Flower Children and Family Services, Wading River, New York. She loved to cook, had a creative talent for artistic creations, an appreciation for music and pop culture and enjoyed spending time at the beach with her dog Stewart. Laura is survived by her two daughters Amber Lee Hepner and Alex Marie Hepner, her parents Patrick and Gail Cavanagh, her brother Charlie Cavanagh and his partner Holly Corey, two sisters Rachel Braida and Joanna Cavanagh, nephew Cole Bryant, niece Olivia Alvarez, and close family friend Layne Johnson. All arrangements including private cremation have been entrusted to the Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, New York. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York, https://donate.littleflowerny.org/give/455141/#!/donation/checkout in Laura's name. Memorial visitation will be on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 PM with religious services at 3:00 PM.
