Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss… Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Recently I was asked to be the Godmother of a friends baby, while sitting in the Baptism class we were asked a series of questions. One was “who was the most influential person in the journey of your faith?” The answer for me was easy, my Grandmother, Bertha Hasemann. I raised my hand and told the Deacon my answer, he responded and said “How beautiful must it have been to have someone in your life with that kind of blind faith, someone who believed without any doubt. Not many people can say they grew up with that”.
How lucky was I that not only did I get to have a woman with that kind of faith in my life but my children did as well.
Gram, you will be missed beyond measure. George will miss you giving him money to run out and stop the ice cream man when we would come to visit, even if we had already had ice cream from the freezer! Dominic will miss sitting with you and talking about Saints and their feast days. Riley will miss looking at all of your rosary collections and always leaving with a special one to take back home, and Vincent will miss hearing all the stories of how crazy Pop and his brothers were back in their day!
Thank you for filling us with as much love as you possibly could in our visits. We will hold onto that on the days that we miss you most. Rest Peacefully in Heaven and shine your light down on your children. They need you now more than ever.
We love you GG- The Demes Family
I had the pleasure of knowing Bertha Dolan Hasemann when I was a young girl and she was friends with my older sister, Kathy McGowan Smith. Then, years later, my close friend, Judy Hasemann Miller used to take me on rides out to visit Eddie and Bertha and their young children. We had great times together. Both Eddie and Bertha were very special people!
Bertha was blessed with a beautiful, kind heart, wonderful smile and a contagious laugh. It was always delightful to be around her. She is in my prayers.

My sincere condolences to Bertha’s family .She was a wonderful neighbor for 30 years. A memory to share was when Shamus and Jillian dressed up as Aladdin and Jasmine .Coincidentally Jillian’s son looks just like Aladdin.. This was the good old days when kids played outside until
the streets light went on. Bertha was a kind and caring person. Sorry for your loss, Lynn Breun – across the street neighbor on Tall Tree.
