Edna F. Sjoen

Edna F. Sjoen, age 91, of Rocky Point, New York died Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Edna was born April 22, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York. She is the daughter of the late Haakon and the late Borghild (Nilsen) Abel. She was predeceased by her husband, Dagfinn Sjoen in 2023. Edna is survived by 5 children, Reidar Sjoen, Kathy Ford, Lola Sorrenti, Lisbeth Pedone and Heidy Gervasi, 11 Grandchildren, and 14 Great-grandchildren. Edna was a loving wife and mother. She had a great love for God, her husband Dagfinn and her children. She was always proud of her Norwegian heritage, which she shared with her children by passing down traditions and stories from the old country. Edna and Dagfinn enjoyed many memories of camping, fishing, traveling, and spending time with family. She will be greatly missed but the love she shared and the memories of her will live on. All arrangements have been entrusted to the Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, New York. Private services for close family and friends. All others invitation, only. Religious services will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at the Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, New York. Burial will follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York. Visiting hours will be Monday, March 17, 2025 from 1:00PM - 5:00PM at the Rocky Point Funeral Home.
