Rest In Peace my beautiful cousin Carlotta
What a lovely woman. In the short time we knew Carlotta we shared so many laughs. She is no longer with us but she lives on in our hearts with the memories we have. A devoted and loving husband must find solace in all the good and wonderful times and memories you have to keep her alive.
It was a joy being your friend over all the years. The friendship I shared with you and Jerry was such an important part of my life. The times in the Berkshires, the trips to the Botanical Gardens and Arthur Avenue, your incredible osso buco, and afternoons in your beautiful backyard, will always be with me. Miss you.
Deepest sympathy
There are so many wonderful memories of Carlotta to look back on, and we’re so lucky that she was part of our family. To say she was an amazing chef is an understatement; every dinner I had on Christmas day was something to look forward to, even when it featured polenta. It didn’t hit me until watching the video on this site how much I would miss her laugh.
Thank you for being a wonderful Auntie over 30 long years. Love you and miss you.
My earliest memory of you was when we were little kids in Brooklyn. When you walked with your mother, I perceived both of you as self-assured and stylish. But we didn’t become close friends until high school. You were always the life of the party, smart, quick-witted, beautiful, funny, and fashionable. But you were never conceited; instead, you were always unpretentious and encouraging. It was so easy to be friends with you. I can’t recall us ever quarreling. I think I spent my adolescence in all your houses, sleeping over and spending summers in the country. We talked a lot about so many things, but we spent more time laughing. Do you recall when we went shopping at A & S and talked in made-up foreign languages? People thought we were crazy and we were. Recall when you were in trouble for some misdeed? Your father would go to your room and lecture you endlessly. After it was over, you were worn out, even wishing that he had punished you rather than lecturing you. I later realized that you benefited from those lectures. I learned from him and lectured my daughters. Even though we didn’t see each other often later in life, when we did or spoke on the phone, it was as if we had just spoken the day before – like no time had passed. In the last few years, we somehow managed to laugh and commiserate about our illnesses. You fought the good fight, Carlotta. You are an inspiration to me. I will miss you so much. Your friend forever, Sylvia
