Connie Martino

Dear Aunt Connie, you will forever be in our hearts and souls. I always felt a special connection with you and although it has been a while since we last spoke, you have always been in my thoughts and prayers. God has received another angel and may you have eternal peace. You live on in your children and our memories and we all have been fortunate to have you in our lives. God Bless you always as you join the others in our family we love that have passed.

I have been blessed to know Mrs. Martino over the course of 30 or so years, from the early days of my friendship with her son Rich, when both of us were graduate students at SUNY Stony Brook, through times when I would rely on her generosity and warm hospitality while I searched for my own place to live, then as my life would include my first wife, with whom we all shared our love of music and singing around Mrs. Martino’s wonderful little piano late into the wee hours of the morning. Enjoying delicious dinners together, some made by Mrs. Martino (especially her casserole dish), sharing our joys and venting about whatever frustrations needed to be heard, we would always feel loved and understood by Mrs. Martino, and we would be lucky if we struck up our favorite songs after dinner and hear Mrs. Martino’s beautiful voice grace the atmosphere to end the night. She was never the one to stop all the fun on any given night, and she could have probably gone later than any of us back then. Thank you Rich and Mrs. Martino, for opening up your home and hearts to me, for sharing precious memories that will linger on, warming my thoughts whenever they turn to you. Forever grateful, Greg
