Ron Rivellese is and will always be a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished son, and loving brother.
Ron’s wife of 41 years, Barbara, will always remember his commitment to their family. Ron would not even consider a nice promotion that required regular overnight travel because he didn’t want to miss nightly dinners with all of the family at the table.
Danielle will always remember her dad’s years of guidance and wisdom working on house projects together. Danielle’s husband, Nick, a lifelong power-boater, will always remember his first time on a sailboat with Ron.
Jacquie will always remember her dad’s most-repeated advice: “Stay alert!” and, “Always finish your meal with a tiny Italian bread sandwich.” Jacquie’s husband, Kevin, will always remember Ron’s attention to the minutiae, encapsulated by his enthusiastic texts about installing French doors.
Ron’s 90-year old parents, Julia and Joe, will always remember Ron as their little boy. Julia will always remember his thoughtful, generous, and loving nature. Joe will always remember his confidence, self-reliance, and independence, and will always chuckle when he sees the holes in Ron’s old bedroom closet from his bow-and-arrow target practice.
Carol, Ron’s sister, will always remember how when Ron thought she was talking too much, he would politely say, “Carol, take a breath.” Carol’s husband of 22 years, Fred, will always remember Ron’s congratulations upon their marriage: he said, “You are so lucky that you are marrying my sister — you don’t have to think anymore! Carol and her friends will do all the thinking for you.”
Ron is an adored cousin to so many with whom he grew up. Each year, Ron looked forward to enjoying the annual cousins’ gathering, as it’s known. Ron’s cousins will always remember his phone calls and wild teenage antics, like the time he drove across a frozen Lake Ronkonkoma – yes, in a car.
Ron is a longtime friend to many with whom he sailed, golfed, traveled, and celebrated. Ron’s lifelong friends will always remember how Ron insisted on picking up every pizza order in order to make sure the pizza remained completely flat during the ride home so that the cheese and sauce didn’t shift to one side. They will always remember a “Ron story” is never a short one, and when he really liked something he ate, he called it “the cat’s ass.”
Ron is a respected business associate to those with whom he worked for over 35 years. In 2019, Ron received a lifetime achievement award from MAFSI for his outstanding contributions to the foodservice industry. Ron’s business associates will always remember his valued mentorship and his great parking spot.
Ron was a Pancreatic Cancer warrior from June of 2017 until March 16, 2021. All of us will always remember Ron’s fighting spirt. He is a warrior, through and through. And now he is an angel, too.

Some people come into our lives for reason an others just in passing. Ron was a reason because he was a gentle sole a true friend an like a brother to my husband Bruce. We loved him for him! I want to share one of the first times I met Ron & Barb we went to dinner an we met in the city. When we arrived at restaurant the first thing Ron said to my husband Bruce was I found a great parking spot! Lol My husband said we play it safe parked in garage! After a great dinner an evening we all left hugged said goodbye an parted ways. About 5 min later Bruce’s phone rings it’s Ron he says my car got towed!!! Can you come back an get us!! We laughed all the way home! It made for a great memory and just a wonderful way to remember a wonderful guy! Rip Ron you will be forever in our ♥️ hearts! We love you all and are here for you during this difficult time!
Love Lauren & Bruce Marino
I am simply crushed and heartbroken to learn of Ron’s passing, despite my knowledge of his battle. Although we have not yet been introduced, I thought it was important to express how much respect I, and I am sure many others, had for your husband/father. Despite our similar age, Ron’s mentoring most likely had the greatest impact on my life as it relates to the challenges with balancing family, work, and life in general. Ron often spoke of the love for the three of you (of course with the occasional addition of humor that Ron, and Ron only, could intwine), and quite frankly, that’s a bit rare in today’s world. I’m not sure I’ve met anyone who enjoyed the relationship with his wife and his daughters as much as Ron did with each of you. Honestly, it was remarkable and even astounding at times. I believe anyone who was fortunate enough to cross paths with Ron is a better person today because of him. Heaven has gained a true angel. May each sunrise ease your pain and may fond memories warm your hearts forever.
Jimmy and I send our deepest sympathy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

The Traveler
He has put on invisibility,
Dear Lord, I cannot see,
But this I know, although the road ascends
And passes from my sight,
That there will be no night;
That You will take him gently by the hand
And lead him on
Along the road of life that never ends,
And he will find it is not death but dawn.
I do not doubt that You are there as here,
And You will hold him dear.
Our life did not begin with birth,
It is not of the earth;
And this that we call death, it is no more
Than the opening and closing of a door,
And in Your house how many rooms must be
Beyond this one where we rest momently.
Dear Lord, I thank You for the faith that frees,
The love that knows it cannot lose its own;
The love that, looking through the shadows, sees
That You and he and I are ever one !
Poem By : James Dillet Freeman, A Unity Minister (1912-2003)

Barbara – my deepest sympathy to you and your entire family – although we have never met, most of the Hobart family feel as if we know you since Ron always spoke of you and the girls. He loved all of you so deeply and you were absolutely the joy of his life! Ron was a gem – such a genuine, fun-loving, and all around great guy. He will be missed, but will always remembered for his great sense of humor – miss you Ronnie!!! Sharon Szafranski

My sincere condolences to the Rivellese family. I knew Ron over 30 years from the Hobart days. Always a gentlemen and always a true professional. Heartbroken by the news today.
A good man and mentor to all that knew him. Unfortunately I was not aware of his death until recently. Will be missed greatly.
