Queens, NY

Marianne Gallagher, age 83, died peacefully surrounded by her family on August 7, 2021. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Tom, and their three children Thomas (Bonnie), John (Meredith), and Marianne. Her angel child Stacey welcomed her home. She was a wonderful grandmother to Gabrielle, Tommy, Megan, Emily, William, and Caroline.
Marianne was born in Jamaica, Queens, on November 6, 1937. While raising a family in Northport, she became assistant bank manager at First National Bank of Long Island, and spent many years as a trusted and beloved member of her community.
Always there for her family, in her retirement she was a doting nana and ready babysitter for her six cherished grandchildren when not traveling the country or globe. Her prolific needlework output was a testament to her creativity, passion, and boundless energy. While managing to never make a profit, she had a thriving bib business that helped countless babies celebrate their first holidays suitably bedecked. A lifelong faith in God and ministry with the Catholic Church sustained her through life’s challenging times and celebratory moments.

I once kidded her about wearing orange on St. Pat’s and she told me that my teeth were orange. She was always fun to work with.
