July 11, 1938 ~ January 27, 2025

Born in: Brooklyn, New York
Resided in: Riverhead, New York

Vincent Matthew Grassi passed peacefully on January 27, 2025 leaving behind a large, loving family who will deeply miss their Father, Grandfather and Brother.

Vincent was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1938 to Matthew and Vera Grassi and was one of three children. He joined the Navy in 1963, and returned home to marry the love of his life, Marie.

A dedicated family man, Vincent (familiarly known as Matty or Jr) adored his wife and loved being a husband and father.  Together, Matty and Marie raised three children; Vincent, Craig and Angela. When not working, Vinny loved to volunteer his time. Politically, he helped get out the vote for national and local elections as a member of the Nassau County Young Republicans. He coached and was an officer for the Carle Place Little League. His involvement continued for many years with the American Legion in Southhold and the North Fork Italian-American Club in Mattituck.

Vincent, even in failing health, always wanted to return to his childhood home – 210 Highland Place in East New York. He held comforting feelings and memories of the good times with him to the end.

Vincent was preceded in death by his parents Matthew and Vera, his wife Marie, and his Grandson John.   He is survived by his three children: Vincent Joseph (Karen), Craig (Renda) and Angela, his six grandchildren: Joseph, Emily, Matthew, Michael, Elena and Jacquelyn, his siblings: Ronald and Celia and his many nieces, nephews and cousins
