Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. My friend, my boss and my Sheltie colleague.
I will miss you forever Father Frank and I have loved being your “assistant to the pastor” at St. John the Baptist. May you rest in eternal peace, and in your words, “you are now with God.” ❤️🙌

    • Father Frank was an inspiration to the young people at St. Patrick’s in Glen Cove and will never be forgotten. Totally shocked and saddened over his passing.

    • Msgr. Schneider as Chancellor of the diocese in the 1990’s was a wonderful boss; the appealing combination of intelligence, wit, and heart. He had a high work standard but always with a supportive bent. No matter how serious the work was at any given moment, a joke or his gleaming smile was not far off. Weeks after I started working on Long Island at the Pastoral Center of the Diocese of Rockville Centre (a new, unfamiliar place to me and where I knew no one at work), my mother died. Msgr. Schneider was very kind to me during that terrible period in my 20’s. I also associate him with very good times in my life, including the fact that I first met coworker Paul Lynch in Monsignor’s office, and we ended up getting married!

Paul and I are very sad and surprised at Monsignor’s passing at such a young age. Our sincere condolences to his family.

  2. Fr. Was a wonderful priest and inspiration to our family while he was ministering to our home parish ,St. Patrick’s in Glen Cove..
Our family is saddened to learn of his passing but we take solace knowing that he is with the Lord. ✝️
    Stephen Alcermes and family

  3. candleMay God bless Father Frank and welcome him into Heaven. Amen.
He was a great influence in my son’s and grandson’s lives.
He had a generous and open heart and always made me feel welcome.
I’ll always remember his humor and warmth.

  4. It’s hard to put into words how devastated we are with the passing of Fr. Frank. I last spoke with him on February 12th and he was in such good spirits. He was always such a joy to talk to. Each and every homily he gave resonated with Amy and I in a way that only made us believe in our faith even more. Fr. Frank was there for so many important times in our lives, good and bad. He was there for our wedding, blessed us with 7 children and was able to meet our twin girls just a few weeks ago. He always joked we had twins because of him! Fr. Frank was so excited to baptize them in the coming months. For his love and friendship we will forever be grateful to have known him and have been able to call him a friend.

  5. candleFather Frank a wonderful person and an inspiration to our two grandsons. One wants to be an altar boy,
A neighbor in Smithtown for years as well as his wonderful family
    Rest in peace Father Frank

  6. Absolutely devastated by this sad news of Father Frank’s passing. We will miss his inspiring instructions each week. God Bless 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

  7. candleI am beyond saddened by this tragic news. My husband and I adored Fr. Frank and loved his homilies. We always felt like he was speaking directly to us. He had such a way of conveying his messages….I have never heard anyone deliver homilies the way he did. His sense of humor was wonderful and he was an absolute pleasure to know for the time we had him as pastor at St. Elizabeth’s. Taken way too soon…..I will pray for all his family and friends while knowing that he has returned home to God where we will all meet again.

  8. Such a shock!, our hearts are broken. Father Frank was a very special priest who left us with fond memories. When he left St. Elizabeth’s for St. John the Baptist, we started sending him angel ornaments at Christmas from Pier 1, he loved that store. When they closed we were able to get them from World Market. So the angels were back and he was thrilled each year we awaited anxiously for his wonderful response he would include Percy, Quincy and Isoldi with a picture of him and the dogs. What a joy. Father Frank may our Christmas angels surround you and bring you to your place in Heaven. Our love and prayers are with you and your family. All our love .

  9. candleRest in peace Father Frank.. Your Pilgrimages to The Holy Land and Greece made a lasting mark ion my life. You will be missed.

  10. Farther Frank was a paster in St Elizabeth and he was wonderful. He brought the community back to church with his homilies. I was shocked to hear of his passing and missed him when he left St Elizabeth.

  11. May you rest in peace. Thank you for being a great priest. I will always remember your inspiring homilies at St. Vincent de Paul in Elmont. You helped me to develop my faith and to grow closer to our Lord Jesus Christ. You were a part of my renew 2000 group and gave us wonderful insights into our faith for which I will be forever thankful. Thank you for helping my mother in saying a mass for my father. That meant so much to her. You will be greatly missed. May God bless you. You will always be in my prayers. I am grateful that God allowed you to be a part of my spiritual life. Rest in the peace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  12. Father Frank was an inspirational priest and human being. I first met him when he came to St. Patrick’s in Glen Cove on his very first assignment.
He was always fun to be with and knew how to encourage me when things were tough. After St. Pat’s, when he was studying at the North American College in Rome, he organized a trip for our pastor and a group of parishioners. That trip – with Father Frank as our tour guide and spiritual guide – is one of my most cherished memories. God bless you and keep you, Father Frank.

  13. I was shocked and saddened to.learn of the passing of my neighbor, Frank Schneider. Always had a smile and a kind word whenever I saw him. He would greet me and my beagle as we passed by his house, usually as he was walking his shelties. You will be missed. May you rest in peace.🙏

  14. Father Frank was a true inspiration. He married me and my wife in church this passed September 15th and gave us renewed spiritual guidance and life!

  15. Great memories of Fr. Frank when he came to St.Patrick’s in Glen Cove. One of the good ones for sure. He always seemed to be interested in the kids and us parishioners. I seem to recall that he did the blessing of the fleet in Hempstead Harbor one year and I know for sure that he went out on my brother-in-law’s boat fishing once or twice and blessed it for him. I’ve met only a few priests since then that matched him and the ministry he delivered in the short time he was here.
Mother Mary watch over him and his family.

  16. So sorry to see you go!Thought you would always be here for a long time , but God had other plans.I know your light will be shining eternally in heaven. God bless you Fr.Frank and thankyou for being you.You will never be forgotten.

  17. candleFather Frank was so good to us during the worst time in our lives. He is a loving, caring, funny man. We will definitely miss him.❤️

  18. candleA caring, funny, loving priest. He touched the lives of so many.. We loved him dearly many years ago at St. Vincent de Paul church in Elmont. I looked forward to each mass. May he rest in heavenly peace. My Deepest condolences to his family, & friends

  19. candleFather Frank was absolutely the finest Priest and one of the finest human beings I have ever had the privilege to know. St. John the Baptist was truly blessed to have had him serve as our pastor. My family was very inspired by him not only in religious concerns but in life lessons on how to be a good person. He had a way of reaching out to and influencing everyone in every age group from the very young to the very old. His compassion, joy of life and kindness will long be remembered and he will be missed terribly. Father Frank may you rest in the Peace of our Lord who you loved and in the prayers and wonderful memories of all the lives you have touched with your kindness, wisdom and acceptance. Heaven surely has gained another angel.

  20. candleFather Frank was so kind to my Mom Mary ,when he was Rector at the Seminary. We were there for a picnic. After Mass everyone gathered outside. He walked along my Mom’s side. He took her chair and gave her his arm to lean on. They were talking to each other like they were old friends.. My Mom and I never forgot his kindness. I wish we had a chance to know him more. The Light of Christ truly shown deep from within his heart and soul. God bless you and grant you eternal peace and joy in Heaven. When you and my Mom meet again please give her a hug from me.

  21. candleSo sorry to hear of the passing of
Fr. Frank Schneider. We remember him most as being the Pastor at St. Elizabeth Church in Melville. He was loved and will be missed. May be rest in peace with God our Father.

  22. candleSo sorry to hear of the passing of
Fr. Frank Schneider. We remember him most as being the Pastor at St. Elizabeth Church in Melville. He was loved and will be missed. May he rest in peace with God our Father.

  23. candleFather Frank’s smile would always illuminate a room. He had a deep affection for shelties and was a regular attendee at LISSR’s holiday parties and other gatherings. The image that will forever remain etched in my mind is of him cradling Quincy in his arms. Rest assured, your beloved dogs are in capable hands. You will be missed by many.

  24. candleHis sense of humor.reached out to the shoppers at king kullen one day……….on Halloween !!…… he wore his clerical garb, and was such a hit with the kids, ………….and adults, such a wonderful person, he will be missed by many…..

  25. candleOne of the most memorable day in my life was the day that I was installed along with Msgr frank Schneider and Msgr Robert Morrisey to The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher.. it was an honor for me to be with him and Fr Bob for such a distinguished honor. I was truly humbled by his dedication to this and his faithful service to our faith. I am saddened by his untimely passing.

  26. candleMy condolences to his family, parish community, fellow clergy and friends.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen

  27. candleFather Frank you are gone to soon, but never forgotten for all that you have done. Your light will shine upon us forever.

  28. It is such a sad time for all those who were so fortunate to have had Father Frank in their lives. He was an important part of our family. His kindness, tenderness, loving and caring nature was a shining example for all. He will be missed greatly. God has blessed all of us for the time we had with Father Frank. Now he watches over us from Heaven. May he rest in peace now and always.

  29. Father Frank was a shining light. I grew up in church but moved away due to life challenges. Father Frank touched my soul when I moved to South Huntington in 2001. He inspired my husband to come to church with me in 2004, and he bc a better catholic than I. Father Frank inspired faith, love, and godly principles in a way all could relate. My children’s love of God was bestowed in part because of him. His gift of rosary beads to children at their communion from the holy land, attending all children plays and events, showing God’s love can be seen in nature, people, and animals was cherished. Was heart broken 💔 when he moved on from St Elizabeth to show the love of god to others. My joy lessened with traditional church afterwards but never the love Father Frank in how he inspired my faithful and family’s hearts. Thank you to Father Frank for your love and devotion to all, and his beloved family for supporting him in his gift to sharing the glory of God to all those he interacted with! Rest in peace in the glory of heaven with God Our Father! A treasure, bless Father Frank Schneider

  30. candleAfter many, many years of being away from the church, Father Frank brought me back. He then married my husband and me and the service could not have been more perfect. I am forever grateful. I miss him terribly. I always will.
