Elina Artiles

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Elina Artiles, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother who peacefully passed away at the age of 87. Born in Havana, Cuba on February 27, 1938, came to the United States as a young woman, bringing with her, culture and heritage.

Her journey from Cuba to the United States was one of courage and determination, but her greatest joy came from the family she built and nurtured.

Elina had a deep love for her Cuban roots, and she often shared stories of her homeland, keeping the traditions and memories alive for her loved ones.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Beloved wife of the late Oscar Artiles. She is survived by her daughters Cristina (Domingo) Tapia, Vivian (Salvador)Vasapolli. Grandmother of Christine Tapia, Malinda (Sergio) Bonomo, Marc Tapia, Gabriella (James) Hershberger and Victoria Vasapolli. Great grandmother of Dylan Tapia, Evan Bonomo, Christian Bonomo, Aedan Tapia, Logan Tapia, Ava Tapia, and Christopher Hershberger.

Visitng hours Friday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Branch Funeral Home of Commack, 2115 Jericho Tpke., Commack. Funeral Serice on Saturday 9:30 am at the funeral home with Interment to follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx.
