Joseph A. Vente

January 28, 1930 ~ March 16, 2025
Joseph A. Vente, age 95, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025. Joe lived a life defined by dedication to family, service, and creative problem-solving, and he will be greatly missed.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Regina Vente. Joe is survived by his daughters Patricia McCaffrey (Keith), Janine Vente, Mary Jo Ronan (Mike), and Barbra Neilson (Chris); his grandchildren Kayla (Scott), Colleen (Michael), Megan, Matthew (Laura), John, Lily, Luke, and Eric; and his great-granddaughter Poppy. Joe is also survived by his loving partner, Mary Kenny.
A proud Korean War veteran, Joe dedicated much of his professional life as an engineer and designer for New York City public schools, where his innovative spirit and technical expertise helped shape learning environments for generations of students. For many years, Joe could often be found on the tennis court or at home tinkering with projects, many of which made use of tennis balls no longer fit for play.
Joe’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched—as a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, partner, and friend. His practical wisdom, commitment to family, dry wit, and generosity will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
