Born in: Brooklyn, NY
Resided in: Coram, NY

With profound sadness, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Arlene Rokosz, who peacefully left us on August 31, 2025,at the age of 82. Born in Brooklyn, New York on July 14, 1943 to the late Alfred and Sophie Dymerski. Arlene lived a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering strength. Arlene is survived by her son Richard Rokosz and her grandchildren Nicole and Joseph.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was known for her positive personality, passion for her family, and her ability to never give up. You could find her sitting on the porch reading, watching Lifetime, Hallmark, Days of Our Lives or the Bachelor, doing a crossword puzzle or talking on the phone. Every day and night would begin with a call to her son Richard and asking if the Mets or Islanders won. Her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Arlene to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (See Link Below)

  1. Aunt Arlene, I will always treasure our times together.. we didn’t see each other often but when we did at holidays and other special occasions you were always a joy, you made things special that I always will treasure. Thank you for being a special part in my heart ❤️ till we meet again.

  2. So sorry to hear about Arlene‘s passing. She was a wonderful person, a great wife to Eddie and mother to Richie. She will be missed. May she rest in peace – Susan and Tom

  3. Love to my beloved Aunt Arlene. She always smiled and welcomed everyone. I loved her laugh and presence in the room. I love you Aunt Arlene

  4. How do you say goodbye to someone you knew for 70 years as a friend . We shared many of lives joys and sorrows. Arlene was very kind, generous, and was always thereI j when you needed a shoulder to cry on, may you rest in peace, my friend. Love you..

  5. Aunt Arlene was like my 2nd Mom she would always take me on Vacations with them, my 1st trip to Great Adventure and all the St Vincent bus trips because my Parents both worked. She always was trying to make me laugh cause she’d say I always had a puss on my face (Which I did) She always gave the best Birthday and Christmas gifts, always Very Thoughtful and Generous. Will miss her laugh and will always have found memories of her especially when she would dress up as Santa for Christmas Parties. RIP my beloved Aunt.
    Love David and Erin

  6. It’s hard to say Goodbye to someone I’ve known since going to the same High School together & later when she became my Sister-In-Law. We had so many laughs when we vacationed together & especially at Christmas time. I appreciated the way she took care of my Brother when he was ill & also taking care of my Mom with her heath issues. I will miss our frequent talks on the phone. She always managed to laugh about something and never complained much. I Love you Arlene and hope to see you on the other side er side.
    Love Jo

  7. *Arlene was always so happy and cheerful every time you were in her company. I remember how excited I was when she picked me to be one of her bridesmaids. She will be missed but will leave great memories of times with her. Frank always liked joking with her too. She told him to never change because he was so funny.. So sorry Richie for this great loss but you were a wonderful son to her. We didn’t speak that often but when we did she always spoke about you and your kids & always said how lucky she was to have them in her life. Rest in Peace Arlene!

  8. Aunt Arlene always made family occasions warm and fun. We will miss you and cherish our memories of happy times together 🙏🏻🩷 Tammy, Tara, and Tricia (Tyburczy)
