Born in:
Uniondale, New York
Resided in:
St. James, New York
Kathleen Rubino, 81 of Saint James, passed away on December 8, 2025. Kathy was born in
Uniondale, NY, on March 6, 1944, to the late Anthony and Jennie (Giardine) Alimonte. She is
survived by her two children, Kathleen Hurski (Billy) and Jennifer Walling, and her six
grandchildren, Billy and Rebecca Hurski, Bryce, Brooke, Brody, and Bradyn Walling. She was
the sister of the late Adelaide (Danny) Williams and the late Richard (Santa) Alimonte. Many
nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive her.
She was a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from her family. Her home
was always open, her kitchen always warm, and her heart always full. Whether she was making
her children’s favorite meals or cheering from the stands at Ranger games, she poured her
energy into creating moments of happiness for those she loved the most.
Her love of nature and the outdoors was evident in her beautiful gardens, where she spent
hours nurturing flowers and plants with the same care she gave her family. Summers on the
South Shore were her favorite- boating across the water, soaking up the sun, and sharing
laughter with family and friends.
Her compassion extended beyond people to her two beloved dogs, Scotch and Gracie, constant
companions who brought her daily joy and comfort. They were part of her family, and she
treated them with the same affection and devotion that defined her relationship with everyone
she loved.
She will be remembered for her generosity, her laughter, and her ability to make every person
feel valued and loved. Her spirit lives on in the traditions she created, the meals she shared,
and the countless memories she built with her children and grandchildren.
Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that her love continues to guide them, as
steadfast and enduring as the gardens she so lovingly tended.

I will miss you always, until we meet again….
It was always so wonderful when I got to see you, and you always made us the best lunches.
I always enjoyed our crazy conversations and all the laughter. I am so glad that you are reunited with all the family and Uncle Joe and out of pain. Fly high with the angels……

To Kathy’s Family,
An angel has gone to heaven. Kathy’s love for her family will live on. A devoted daughter, sibling, loving wife and caring Mother and Grandmother, Kathy gave so much and never wanted anything in return.
She was fiercely determined and would accomplish anything she set her mind to. We remember Joey saying “ They don’t make women like my Kathy anymore”. So true.
We are grateful to have her friendship for many years and we will always remember her.
Deepest condolences,
Joe and Brenda
Our deepest sympathy goes out to her family. Greg and I have had sixty years of memories. We double dated and spent many good times as teenagers , on Joey’s first boat, in the Great South Bay. Years later we spent fun times on the “Grasshopper.”
with Joey yelling “ Kathy get the ropes”. Joey’s trust in her ..had no end. That was who she was , someone you could trust with your life. She was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother. We were privileged to be considered her friends.. I was so happy to have the opportunity to visit last year . Also Kathleen ,thanks for taking us out to the Great South Bay again….where it all began.
Until we meet again, save a place for us at the table and let the lobster flow . “May God hold you in the palm of his hand”. Love and miss you.
