Maria Tranchina, age 64, of Wading River, New York died Monday, August 11, 2025. She is the daughter of the late Vito and the late Bridgetta (Bongiovanni) Signorino. Maria Christina Tranchina (née Signorino) was born in Alcamo, Sicily on February 11th, 1961. The younger of two daughters, she emigrated to Queens, New York with her family, where she grew up and eventually became an elementary school teacher. After her retirement from teaching, she would follow in the footsteps of her late father to become the owner of a pizzeria: Pazzo Ristorante in Wading River, New York. She is survived by her husband Anthony, her sister Josephine, her children Francesco and Christa, her dogs Baloo, Gus and Hercules, and her grandchildren Kenny, Teddy, Angelina, and Rosie Jean. All arrangements have been entrusted to the Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, New York. Celebration of the Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at St. John The Baptist R.C. Church, 1488 North Country Road, Wading River, New York. Private cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be Friday, August 15, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, New York.   17. So sorry to hear about the passing of Maria. My favorite memory is when we all spent July 4th together one year and we were laughing so loud at something funny on tv late at night and Maria came downstairs and said something like “ok turn off the tv it’s time for bed” still laugh about it to this day that we got “in trouble” you will be missed Maria. My condolences to her family.
