Joseph Patrick Frawley of Ridge, New York passed to the Lord on January 27th, 2025 at the age of 96.
Formally of Rego Park, NY, of Bronx, NY, of Whitestone, NY, of McLean, VA, of Purchase, NY, White Plains,NY and Sag Harbor, NY, of Vero Beach, FL, and Fort Myers, FL.
Joe was born January 24, 1929, to William and Anna (Tubridy) Frawley, the eldest of two children.
He was a proud graduate of Cathedral College of the Immaculate Conception Preparatory Seminary in 1947.
Joe served proudly in the Korean War, rising to the rank of Sergeant First Class and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal on November 12th, 1952.
Married Margaret Mary McCarthy at St. Helena Church, Bronx, NY on April 18, 1953, and graduated from Fordham University in 1955 with a BBA.
He had an illustrious career at New England Mutual Life serving as Pension Director in their offices in Washington DC and later New York City. His clients included top 500 companies across the US.
Upon his retirement, Peg and Joe traveled extensively, enjoying family and friends until Peg’s passing in 2019. Joe kept busy volunteering at St. Mark’s Catholic Church as a lecturer, trustee and a member of the money counting ministry.
At Leisure Glen, he enjoyed horseshoes, garden club, golf, American Legion, and Wall Street Club.
He always had $2 bills to give his children and grandchildren and every time they see a $2 bill they will think of Dad, Poppie and Grandpoppie.
Pre-deceased by his wife Margaret “Peggy”, his son Col. James J. Frawley, USMC (ret.) and his younger sister Evelyn Frawley O’Donohue.
He is survived by his daughters, Colleen (James) Noonan, Sheila (Scott) Beaumont and Patricia (Michael) Wagner, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Many thanks to his caregivers Lynda Hansel, Jane Myers, and Terry James for their love and attention to Dad’s needs, both emotional and physical. Additionally, the family thanks Dad’s weekly Eucharistic Minister, Mary Harding and East End Hospice.
