Walter was a special guy to me. Supported all that I wanted to do and backed every risk I took as a principal. Walter made me feel comfortable when I was a nervous rookie AP. He gently pushed me to become a principal when I didn’t have the confidence. The end result was he is one of my most unforgettable people and I will forever be thankful for all he gave me during my time at ESB. Marie, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I think you were so good for him. I will miss him always.
Walter was a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Administrator for the Special Needs children. He always put them FIRST. I was extremely privileged to have worked with him. RIP Mr. “G”, RIP
I had the great pleasure of working with Walter as the administrative assistant to the Alternate High School at Rocky Point. He brought his years of administrative experience to the program assisting staff in making it a success. Always proving support and well needed laughter. He was a strong advocate for at risk students from not only Rocky Point but Mount Sinai and Bellport as well.
As a guidance counselor, we worked together to encourage and facilitate success in each student providing numerous diplomas and GED certificates. Walter became more than a colleague as years passed and I considered him a friend. Slainte my friend 🍀 !!!
A really wonderful and classy guy!
I am so very sorry for your loss, Marie. My heart goes out to you. Sending you love and hugs. ~Bernadette from ES BOCES
Walter was such a great person who always cared about others. Wether it was his family, students, acquaintances, or his dogs he cared for them deeply. He also had a great sense of humor and made many of us laugh. He uplifted people and made them feel . valued. He will surely be missed.
I have heard wonderful things about Walter. Rest in peace.
“Those we love don’t go away,
they walk beside us every day,
unseen, unheard, but always near,
still loved, still missed and very dear.”
