Aleksandr Ignatov

aleksandr ignatov

December 31, 1973 ~ February 14, 2026

Born in: Russia, ,
Resided in: Northport, NY

Aleksandr Ignatov, beloved son and husband, and loving father, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Aleksandr was exceptionally intelligent and adventurous, a man who approached life with curiosity, discipline, and determination. Even in the midst of illness, he refused to stop growing. He began learning a new language, experimented in the kitchen with new recipes, and continually challenged himself to acquire new skills. He learned to ride a motorcycle — embracing both the thrill of the road and the freedom it symbolized.
A passionate fan of the Washington Capitals, Aleksandr set out on a remarkable journey: to visit every National Hockey League arena and watch Alex Ovechkin play in each one. Though his illness prevented him from completing the journey — with two arenas still left unseen — this adventure brought him immense joy and became one of the brightest highlights of his battle.
He also dreamed of riding a motorcycle across Chile and Argentina, a journey that reflected his love for challenge, exploration, and the open road. Sadly, his disease did not allow him to fulfill this dream. Yet even in unfulfilled plans, he lived with courage and hope.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Aleksandr’s memory may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation to support ongoing research.
