I’m absolutely heartbroken to hear about Alex’s passing. We lived in Keehn our Freshman year at Hamilton, and studied abroad our Junior year in Beijing. Alex was an incredible writer, mycologist, and friend. My heart is with the Witonsky family during this difficult time.

Alex, I have loved and adored you from the day you were born. Speaking the word, “diaper� at 7 months old was only the beginning of all we have heard from your teachers since you were a child, about your mature and caring ways. You were a 30 year old at the age of 8. I have been so blessed and honored to have you as a son. Your love of and appreciation of the simplest and most beautiful things will always be remembered. You have always been so kind and considerate of everyone. I know your spirit will live on in me forever. I love you and will think of all of your goodness, as well as your uniqueness for the rest of my days. I believe you and Grandpa are catching up on all things literary!
Marnie, Ken and Ava, We are so truly sorry for the unimaginable pain you are going through. Alex was an incredible human being and someone that anyone would be proud to call their son. In his short life he has left his mark in this world. He will be missed by everyone that he touched. Alex was very lucky to have you for his family. Alex, you are a great, thoughtful and kind soul who typically saw the humor and beauty in your day-to-day. You often pointed out that beauty to me as well, in our hikes or wildflower picking adventures, I learned so much from the smallest moments we had together. I know you’re somewhere enjoying In Bruges and finding mushrooms and flowers yet to be discovered. You are a great, patient friend, Alex, and I will miss your smile, book recommendations, and advice very much. I love you.

Witonsky FamilyWe are all devastated to hear the news. While sorry never suffice, it is the only word I can think of over and over. I met him recently when he slept over a few months ago. we spoke about our common love for books. The next day he got both me and my husband, socks with book prints on them..with a simple note..from one bibliophile to another.. love the kid, will miss him.

Alex you were one of the kindest people I have ever met. Your sense of humor never failed to put a smile on my face. I will never forget the great times we had together our senior year of high school. Although you are gone your memory will live on through me, your friends and your family. You were one of the people in my life I can definitely say I had no bad memories of. I hope you’re feeling better Alex.

Dear Witonsky Family,I overlapped with your son at Hamilton and didnΓÇÖt know him well, but was in a few English classes with him. Whenever I was in his discussion group, I was always very impressed by his insight and dry sense of humor. IΓÇÖm so sorry for you loss.

I am missing you- my beautiful son. I love you so much. Life is beyond difficult without your presence. I cherish every memory- you were so incredibly kind, brilliant and curious about the world ; your amazement in everything was awe inspiring. The void that is here – will never go away.
