Born in: Brooklyn, NY
Resided in: Wading River, NY

Andrea Anna (Loewe) Sulz was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 5, 1971 to Carol (Loewe) Herrmann (George) and Frederick H. Loewe (Pat). She was their first born child. Andrea was delightful fun loving woman who loved children and was born to be a teacher.
Her heart was always with children with special needs. She began her teaching career in one of the most neediest schools in Jamaica, Queens. Her students were high school age coming from low income backgrounds with developmental disabilities. She was devoted to the educational as well as the social needs of these at risk students for many years. She would spend hours looking for appropriate reading materials that they could relate to in their lives.
Andrea met the love of her life David Sulz in 1998. They were soon married and started a beautiful family together with the birth of Samantha Rose Sulz in April of 2003 and then Alexandra Rose Sulz in January of 2007. She knew that this was what her real role in life, motherhood. She was a fun, lively mother who filled her girls lives with daily activities, library visits, dance and gymnastic classes.
Andrea recently returned to the classroom with joy. As her children grew she knew it was time to reinvent herself.
Andrea died on January 12, 2022 of complications from Covid. She is survived by her husband David Sulz, two daughters Samantha & Alexandra, mother Carol Herrmann, her two siblings Paul Loewe (Sarah), Margot Bizon (Michael) and her beloved nieces and nephew, Luke, Madi, Mia and Isabelle.
She will be missed daily by all her friends, family and work associates. However, most of all by the light she brought into her family’s lives, David, Samantha and Alexandra. She will remain with them always.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. To a beautiful person. You will be missed by so many as a mommy, sister, daughter, wife, friend, aunt…. God bless you and your sweet family.

  2. candleAlthough I did not personally know Andrea personally other than through stories and memories between mothers of our children, and there are no words of comfort at this time that help, I again go back to poems or words of wisdom from other people. This is from Marcel Proust ” Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom”. I can assure you from what I have heard of Andrea, she has definitely made many souls blossom and will be greatly missed by many. My heart goes out to all of her family.

  3. My heart goes out to the Sulz and Loewe families. Praying for her to be at peace and for her family’s strength during these difficult days.

    Success
    By Ralph Waldo Emerson

    To laugh often and love much;
    to win the respect of intelligent persons
    and the affection of children;
    to earn the approbation of honest critics
    and to endure the betrayal of false friends;
    to appreciate beauty;
    to find the best in others;
    to give of oneself;
    to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,
    a garden patch or redeemed social condition;
    to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation;
    to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived—
    this is to have succeeded.

  4. My heart broke when I heard God had taken such a sweet, smart, funny, beautiful kind angel-on-earth. Andrea, may you Rest In Peace. God Bless Dave, Sam, Alex and your family, and give them strength through this difficult time. You were a one-of-a-kind person and am so blessed to have called you a friend. You will be missed…rest easy, Andrea ❤️💔

  5. candleTo our dearest and greatly loved cousin Andrea, our hearts are broken. We are all struggling at the thought of a life without you. We will miss all the love, life, light and energy you brought into our lives. You were the glue that kept us all together, making sure that we kept tradition, had family gatherings and always made certain our children would carry on the love and togetherness that you represented for all of us. Each of us carry beautiful memories in our hearts like Christmas Eve at Aunt Vicky’s, dinners at Mary Ann’s, late evening conversations with Nicole, heartfelt calls to Loretta in Arizona, the traveling box fan that you brought to Michael and Celeste’s, and how you George and Alexis couldn’t wait to exchange stories as soon as you walked in the house. It’s hard to imagine that these are all memories now but how blessed we are to have had you in our lives. Your spirit will live on within all of us as we are there for your beautiful family and will continue to cherish our time with Dave, Sam and Alex. You are forever in our hearts. With all our love always and forever, Loretta, Michael and Celeste, Nicole, Rose Ann, Aris and Mary Ann, George and Alexis.

  6. There are no words to express how devastated I am. Andrea was one of a kind. I’m so grateful that I had the chance to spend some time with her over Christmas. I am so very sorry for your loss. I too loved Andrea like she was my family.

  7. I will miss Andrea terribly. She always made me laugh with her great sense of humor. My heart goes out to her family.

  8. I’m so sorry for your loss, there just are no words that could ease your hearts at this time. You are in my prayers.
    I happened to come across this and pray that eventually it may help. This was written by David Haskins a British artist .
    You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived.
    You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.
    Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her, or you can be full of the love you shared.
    You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
    You can remember her only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
    You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

  9. And God Said….

    I said, “God I hurt.”
    And God said “I know.”
    I said, “God I cry a lot..”
    And God said “That is why I gave you tears.”
    I said, “God, I am so depressed.”
    And God said, “That is why I gave you sunshine.”
    I said, “Life is so hard.”
    And God said “That is why I gave you loved ones.”
    I said, “God, my loved one died.”
    And God said, “So did mine.”
    I said, “God, it is such a loss.”
    And God said, “Mine was nailed to a cross.”
    I said, “God, your loved one lives.”
    And God said, “So does yours.”
    I said, “God, where are they now?”
    And God said, “Mine is on the right, and yours is in the light.”
    I said, “God it hurts.”
    And God said “I know.”

    To my beautiful cousin and friend Andrea,
    Your loss leaves a painful void that will never be filled. You were taken too soon, but I know you rest in the embrace of our loved ones in Heaven who have gone before you. I take comfort in the wonderful memories of good times spent together through the years. I will miss your antics, your smile and laughter, your stories and humor, your support and love. More than you’ll ever know. The girls and I will be there for your family, especially Sam and Alex as they grow into the beautiful and strong women you were raising them to be. You were an amazing person, with so much love to give. My hope is that you knew how much you meant to me. Rest In Peace forever, Andrea.

  10. Rest in peace to the kindest, and sweetest soul that I’ve ever encountered. Thank you for the endless rides, and dinners, and sleepover parties that you would host. I’m honored to have known you, and will forever remember “The Notebook” movie night. Sending love.

  11. I am utterly speechless, and so sad to lose my friend. The only appropriate words I found is this –
    Dance like no one is watching
    Sing like no one is listening
    Live like there is no tomorrow
    That’s the way she lived her life, and that is exactly how she would want everyone else to live theirs. I will forever keep her memory alive by doing just that. My deepest condolences to the entire Sulz & Loewe family.

  12. So sorry for your loss. Prayers for Andrea’s family. Carol our thoughts and prayers are with you ❤️❤️

  13. Our thoughts are prayers are with you all as you honor the life of Andrea. May God grant you strength during this difficult time.

  14. Carol, my heart is broken for you and your family with the loss of Andrea. The loss of any family member is devastating but the loss of a child is especially hard. No matter how old they are, they’re still our babies. In addition, I send my most sincere condolences to Andrea’s husband and children. I pray that God puts His hand on the shoulder of you all and gives you comfort and peace.
    God Bless you all.

  15. Sam and Alex, I know you loved your mom so much and I know she loved you even more. She was an amazing mother, wife, friend, and woman and I’m sending so much love to you all.

  16. Andrea Sulz was a like second mom to me. She would always greet me with a huge embrace and never failed to treat me as if I was her own child. I spent countless times in the Sulz kitchen just telling her everything about my life, and she would always joke about how I never stopped talking and how much she loved that about me. There is a huge emptiness in my heart knowing that she is gone, and that I will never have another one of those moments with her. I can’t imagine what her close friends and family must be going through. Momma Sulz, I’m going to miss you so much, you were taken too soon, but it gives me some comfort to know that you aren’t suffering anymore, and are up with the angels looking down on us. I’m sorry that I can’t be there in person to say goodbye to you, but I am sending every ounce of love over to you and the ones you loved so dearly. Rest in peace, you will be missed immensely.❤️
