Andrew Anagnos

andrew anagnos

August 3, 1972 ~ October 8, 2023

Born in: Southampton, NY
Resided in: Northport, NY

Andy was a first generation American born to Greek immigrant parents.  He spent his childhood growing up in Hampton Bays / Montauk and worked endless hours alongside his family at their diner, The Plaza Restaurant.  He rolled into SUNY Albany in his white convertible mustang 5.0, pledged the fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) where he made lifelong friends. He received a masters degree from Fordham University and for 20+ years worked in corporate finance.  He met Jenn along the way and they spent many years traveling the world together.  For over 10 years they lived in NYC where their 2 daughters, Veronica and Penelope, were born.  Shortly after they moved to Northport, NY and Andy focused on being his girls’ soccer coach and then the proud dad cheering on the sidelines at soccer and basketball games, school plays and concerts. He lived for his girls and everyone noticed it.  In order to spend even more time at home with his family Andy was in the process of starting his own sign and graphics business.  He valued being a good person and a hard worker and set that example for his children in everything he did.  He was loved by many and will be missed deeply.

    Ana Colon & family.

  3. Andy was such a great dad! I know even death will not stop him from being with his family. He will be watching over them every step of the way.

  4. Sending thoughts and prayers to the Anagnos Family – pleasure to have worked with one another throughout the years. Keeping the family in our prayers!

  5. Andy was a great man. Loved his family. Grew up with him in Montauk, where my parents were best friends with his parents, as my dad was also greek. He even visited Santorini the only time I ever went to Greece, when we were naive 15 year old boys. I even worked with him at his parents’ restaurant. Wish I had kept more in touch over the years. Love to his doting and loving wife Jenn and their two beautiful daughters. Sometimes God wants his angels back with him sooner than we want to let them go.

  6. candleMy deepest condolences to the Anagnos family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Andrew was a great person, always willing to help anybody who needed his assistance. It was a pleasure to have known him and worked with him throughout the years. May he rest in peace and May God bless his soul. He would be truly missed.

  7. It was a pleasure knowing Andrew and working with him. He was a kind and thoughtful man and very proud father. Andrew always had a smile on his face and was a positive light in our office. He was my go-to-person for restaurant recommendations in Northport and Montauk. The world needs more Andrews. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and daughters.

  8. candleAndy was such an amazing dad! He was a gentleman with never a raised voice or mean word and always wore a smile. He is already missed dearly but I know he is looking down and watching over his little beauties. You made a beautiful life that Jenn, V and P will always treasure. Rest in peace Andy!

  9. Andy was my cousin through marriage. He was the first link to the remarkable extended family I have joined. Andy’s warm smile, inquisitive nature, and graceful demeanor were quintessential to his character, and they welcomed me into the fold. His inviting presence continues to serve as a beacon of inspiration, a standard to which we must aspire. May we all hold close the memory of his kindness and let it guide us through the days ahead. Andy’s impact on our lives will forever be treasured.

  10. Lawrence Frederick Kauffman, (Intelligence Section Chief of our dying Fraternity, Pledge Name = Sean's Fault) says:

Brother Andrew Anagnos was a True Gentleman, a genuine real-life Greek god who lit up his–and our–world like a close-passing meteor. Like all shooting stars, even the best of us human beings–his light was extinguished all too soon. The brightness of his spirit and its illumination of everything and everyone around him has now been eclipsed by the darkness of our loss. May he be resurrected, along with all of our fallen Brothers who now dwell in the Chapter Eternal as well as in our broken and ever-breaking hearts, speedily in our days. And may we never forget this veritable Greek god who embodied our Fraternity as so few others have ever done so consistently for so long. As the ancient Greeks observed, “Those whom the gods love die young.” May you rise from the ashes like our beloved mythical Phoenix, Frater Andy. PHOENIX RISING!!! PHI ALPHA

  11. Lawrence Frederick Kauffman, (Intelligence Section Chief of our dying Fraternity, Pledge Name = Sean's Fault) says:

May this veritable Greek god be remembered and may his stellar example of The True Gentleman be emulated for all time. Rest in peace, dear Frater Andy Anagnos, with our other seven fallen Brothers in the Chapter Eternal, and in our broken and ever-breaking hearts, for all time. SEMPER FI–NY PI. PHOENIX RISING!!!
