Anna Maria White

Anna White lived a life defined by fierce loyalty, boundless energy, and unshakeable love for her family and friends.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, mother-in-law and friend.

Born and raised in the Bronx by Italian immigrant parents, she carried that classic New York grit and heart with her everywhere she went. She was tough, she was proud, and she possessed a vibrant spirit that could light up any room.

It was in those early years that she found the love of her life, Steve.  She married her middle school sweetheart on Jun 6th 1976, beginning a beautiful partnership that stood the test of time, grounded in deep friendship and an enduring devotion to one another.

That same dedication drove her professional life.  She enlisted in the United States Air Force on Dec 8th 1977 and served our country for over 34 years. She put on the uniform every time with absolute pride, embodying the values of duty, honor, and sacrifice. She was a leader, a protector, and an inspiration to everyone who served alongside her.

But no matter how demanding her professional/military career was, she always made sure she was there for her family. Her kids will always cherish the memories of her both on the sidelines and at times coaching their sports teams. She wasn’t just a coach; she was their biggest cheerleader. She taught them how to win with grace, how to lose with dignity, and how to always give 100 percent.  She never missed a practice, game, tournament, or competition.  It simply was not an option for her.

Above all else, her greatest joy was her role as a grandmother to her six grandsons. She was not just a spectator in their lives, but an active, enthusiastic participant in every milestone and daily moment. Whether she was cheering from the sidelines of countless sports games, celebrating academic achievements, or hosting chaotic, love-filled family events, she was the ultimate anchor for her boys. She fiercely defended them, endlessly encouraged them, and filled their lives with a perfect mix of gentle wisdom and spirited fun. Her legacy lives on through the six young men she helped shape, each carrying forward her lessons of kindness, resilience, and unconditional love.

Beyond her family and her career, she deeply loved her friends. If you were lucky enough to be counted among her friends, you had a fiercely loyal ally for life.  Whether it be the ongoing relationships with her high school friends, the unbreakable bond with her fellow airmen, or the unforgettable times with the crew on Leslie Lane, her presence will be sorely missed, but her bright impact on those she included in her inner circle will endure forever. She showed up when it mattered, listened without judgment, and brought joy to every situation or gathering.

She leaves behind a legacy of service, dedication, and unconditional love. We will carry her strength and her spirit in our hearts forever. She is survived by her son Michael (Lena), daughter Noelle (Sam), her six grandsons, Sean, Brayden, Nathan, Declan, Connor and Mason and her sister Jenny (Andre).  Rest easy, knowing you were cherished beyond measure and loved by so many.
