Anthony J Pereira, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born to Augusta Pereira and Isabel Texeira, he grew into a strong, hardworking man who lived his life with determination, integrity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his presence was a guiding force in the lives of all who knew him.

He shared 37 loving years of marriage with his cherished wife, Mary Ann Pipitone, whom he adored deeply. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and countless memories that will be treasured forever.

He was the proud father of three children: Cynthia Pereira(Bo Kester), Michael Pereira(Kathy Pereira), and Anthony Pereira(Pauline Pereira). He was also a loving stepfather to Al La Scala(Wendi La Scala), Dennis La Scala(Renee La Scala),and Sam La Scala. To all of his children, he gave boundless love and support, and his family was always the center of his world. He was a devoted grandfather to 14 grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to one great-grandchild. His grandchildren were: Brooke Hightower(Xavier), Brandon Kester, Michael Pereira, Kaci Frazier(Armando),Dean Pereira,Dylan Pereira,Kathleen Pereira,Vincent Pereira,Anthony Pereira,Nick La Scala(Kathleen),Natalie La Scala,Nicole La Scala,Sal La Scala,G La Scala,Mateo Frazier.
His family meant everything to him,and he loved them with a fierce, proud, and unconditional love.

A man of tremendous work ethic,Tony took great pride in his career in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning(HVAC)— a trade he loved nearly as much as he loved his family. His hands built, repaired, and provided for so many, and his dedication and skill were admired by everyone who worked alongside him.

He also had a lifelong passion for sports. He was a talented ball player, a true competitor, and a loyal fan—especially of the New York Jets and the New York Yankees. He loved coaching and generously gave his time helping the Commack High School baseball team, and helped lead them to the Long Island Championship, sharing his expertise and love of the game with young athletes.

Outside of work and sports, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being outdoors, passing down his knowledge and stories to his children and grandchildren. And though he may never have shot a deer, his family always believed it was because he simply didn’t have it in him—his heart was too kind.
His strength, loyalty, humor, and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.
