Anthony Moss

Anthony ‘Tony’ Moss, 63, of Nesconset, NY passed away peacefully and surrounded by love on December 24, 2025. A celebration of Anthony’s legacy will be held on January 2, 2026 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Branch Funeral Home at 190 East Main Street, Smithtown, NY.

Tony was born on March 31, 1962 in Queens to Robert and Joyce Moss. Tony was a graduate of East Meadow High School and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 3 Elevator Division. He followed in his father’s footsteps through his career as an Elevator Mechanic, Company Owner of Elevation Elevator, and eventually a New York City Elevator Inspector. Tony especially loved driving his 1956 Venetian Red Corvette, hunting in Upstate NY, fishing in Montauk, riding his Harley Davidson, rockin’ out to Led Zeppelin, and watching his daughter play competitive softball.

Tony married JoAnn Schiek on May 20, 1988 and they enjoyed 37 years together. They had one daughter, Samantha. Tony will be remembered as a devoted, hard-working, and supportive family man. One of the highlights of his life was walking his daughter down the aisle when she married Daniel Semprini on October 7, 2022.

Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce, better known as Jackie, whom he is now with watching over loved ones. Survivors include wife JoAnn; daughter Samantha and husband Daniel; sister Lisa; brother Steven; father Robert; and countless extended family members and lifelong close friends.

On June 12, 2024, Tony was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a rare and terminal brain disease. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony’s memory to the Respite Grant Program from CurePSP to support other families experiencing the hardships associated with PSP.
