Born in:
New York, New York
Resided in:
Ridge, New York
Arthur “Artie” Kessler was a devoted, loving, and caring husband, father, and grandfather. Along with his wife, Janet, Mr. Kessler had 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, and was a family man through and through. He grew up with 4 brothers, one of whom was his identical twin, 2 sisters, and enjoyed a youth playing sports and exploring the outdoors. Artie was a gifted athlete, and baseball was his first love; he was even a talented enough ball player to be asked to try out for the Brooklyn Dodgers back in the day. Artie was known to be a kind, generous, selfless man who always put his family and others before himself. Mr. Kessler earned a degree in industrial engineering, putting himself through college at night while working a fulltime job and raising a young family. He served his country proudly in the army during WWII, and had a long career working for the State of NY transportation department. Continuing his sporting ways into adulthood, Artie became an avid golfer and bowler, still battling the rough and picking up spares into his 90s. Artie also enjoyed playing bocce and traveling with his wife, brothers, and friends after retirement.
Mr. Kessler is survived by his wife of 77 years, Janet, his children Janet, Barbara, Juli, and David, and his 11 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
“You can leave my body, you can leave my vision, but you’ll never leave my heart.
Forever your loving wife, Janet”

My friend Artie will be remembered as one of the good guys !! He will be missed !! Rest in Peace
One of my Best Uncle’s a Great Man & Father!
I will always remember Uncle Artie for his laid back, easy going personality . . . and also his great smile! I have such fond and fun memories of he and Aunt Janet joking around together and Aunt Janet’s giggles. May he rest in peace and may my aunt and cousins hold him always in their hearts with wonderful memories. With love and care, Patricia and Russ
