Assunta Capogna

“Assunta Capogna was the beloved wife of Andrea Capogna. She was a wonderful and nurturing mother to her four children Loreto, Pierrino, Angela and Filomena and two daughter in laws Margaret and Caterina. She truly loved and cared for her 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, who brought her much joy. She was know by many as “Nonna Assunta.”

Assunta was born on February 8, 1934 in the quaint countryside of, Boville Ernica, Italy. She was the oldest of 7 children and was the primary caretaker for her family as her mother passed away when she was very young. She migrated to the United States with her family and settled in the town of Amityville. She later moved to Lake Grove in which she resided in for over 30 years. She was loved by many and known for a delicious meal. We will miss her dearly.”
