June 23, 1933 ~ March 7, 2024

Born in: E. Setauket, NY
Resided in: Mount Sinai, NY

Audrey Kelly, aged 90, passed away peacefully March 7, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.

Audrey was born on June 23, 1933 as Audrey Wasick in Setuaket, NY; the last of four children of Estelle Bayles Wasick. She was raised in an area they once referred to as “Chicken Hill” and later moved to Port Jefferson. She attended Port Jefferson High School where she studied art and fashion. Not long after graduation, it was on the front lawn of her family home on Main Street where she caught the eye of her future husband- Norman Kelly, a career officer in the United States Air Force.

Norman’s assignment in France allowed them to travel throughout Europe whenever the opportunity arose. She thrived in the role of officer’s wife and reveled in any and all functions that gave her the opportunity to showcase the infamous “uniquely Audrey” style. Upon retirement from the Air Force, they returned to New York and built their family home in Mount Sinai.

Audrey worked closely with the builder to make their home a sanctuary and a reflection of her. From beautiful gardens to her prized Japanese Maple tree, she worked to keep their residence a place so many would also come to love. She cherished her family with her whole heart and will be dearly missed by her surviving five children- Wayne, Gail Noonan, David, Mark John, and Matthew, as well as her eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

  2. candleGail, Your mom was a special person. I know you feel her loss everyday. I’m so glad that you always made an effort to talk to her weekly and go visit whenever you could. It is because of you that she reconnected with her sister. I know they talked for hours on the phone. Now they both can RIP. I’m sorry for your loss and know that she will be missed.

  3. Audrey was such a lovely woman. I am so glad I got to know her and become a friend. I will miss her when I come to Long Island. Prayers to all of her kids and grandkids.
