Aurora Ruiz known to everyone as Lolin. Came to the US from Puerto Rico at the age of 14. Moved to Germany with her brother, where she met her late husband and love of her life, Rey. She raised 5 children and helped raise 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She drew strength and companionship from her sister and sister in laws (who were her sisters), her church community, and neighbors. Lolin gave her love openly and fully to her family and friends. Her greatest joy was caring for all who knew her; always with food and love. Lolin will be missed and will live on through her family, who knows she is at peace with her Rey.

Titi Lolin, I love you so much and you made everything fun. You introduced me to different things and said how successful I’ll be along with believing in me all the time. I’ll never forget when you introduced me to Chinese Checkers. I love you so much unconditionally. I will do amazing things under you and Reynolds’s watch above me.
My dearest Lolin it was just a few weeks since we last spoke, and I am blessed for that. The kind words you said to me about my dad Rene and how he told everyone that I was his daughter and how proud he was of me. I will miss our phone calls and I will miss you. Happy Birthday my beautiful mama. How will I do this I do not know but I will do it knowing you’re with your “Rey” mi amor, my papa. My heart is broken I will miss you forever and a day. Football sundays will be a bit different now but know you’ll be watching with us. I love you my mama. I miss you more. Dance with your papa and give him so many kisses from us. May God Bless you Aunt Lolin and your family. I remember those days back in North Carolina and in West Germany in the 60’s. You were big sister to all of us and an integral part of our family growing up in those memorable days. I’ll always be grateful to you for always finding the time to see me up in NY when in the area; talk to me on the phone especially during a very difficult time following the loss of our daughter. We will always be grateful for the love and compassion you provided to us during this terrible time. You are a wonderful Aunt to me and now that you are reunited with Uncle Rey, Mom, Dad in a very special place above -without pain, may God bless you with eternal peace and happiness. Until we meet again someday Aunt Lolin.
