MULLIGAN – Bruce “Muggs” of Miller Place, passed away Thursday, November 14, at the age of 79. He was surrounded by his loving family, Elizabeth (Betty) his wife of 55 years, daughter, Tracy of Miramar Beach, FL, and son, Keith of San Juan Capistrano, CA. Loving brother of Allen (Seanna) of Denver, CO, and predeceased by his sister Virginia Novak (Joseph) of Blue Point. Bruce served in the US Navy from 1963-67 and was decorated with the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroic actions during the tragic USS FORRESTAL fire of July 29, 1967. Upon discharge, Bruce worked at Grumman in Bethpage as an electrical technician on the Apollo Lunar Module. In July 1970 Bruce joined the IBEW #25 and worked as an electrician until his retirement in 2004. Bruce enjoyed gardening and many sporting activities including sailing, hiking, camping, skiing, kayaking, cycling and was instrumental in building, maintaining, and racing BMX at Shoreham BMX. He will be missed by his family including many sisters/brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Services will be at the Branch Funeral Home, 551 Rte. 25A, Miller Place Thursday, November 21, 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Military Burial will be on Saturday, November 23, leaving from the Branch Funeral Home at 10:30am to proceed to Seaview Cemetery on No. Country Rd. in Mt. Sinai.

  1. I am so sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing. We played football together in High School and had stayed in touch over the years. Bruce and Betty spent sometime together with another good friend sometime ago enjoying some memories! May he rest in peace 🙏🏼
