Born in: Queens, NY
Resided in: Hicksville, NY

Carole Crescenzo Bragin, 86, of Hicksville, New York, passed away surrounded by her children on Monday, August 8, 2022. Carole was born on December 24, 1935 in Ozone Park, New York to Stuart and Grace LaSalle. She attended the Nativity School and John Adams high school. She was very proud to attend college as an adult.

Carole was a homemaker when her children were young and then worked as an accounts receivable manager for many years.

She was fiercely independent and loved driving to adventures. Carole was an avid reader and a lover of music, especially opera and her beloved Pavarotti and the Canadian Tenors. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved mountains and lakes. She was creative and enjoyed art and writing poetry. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, as evidenced by her huge collection of Christmas decorations – she was a Christmas Carole after all. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Nicholas Crescenzo and Royal Bragin, her brothers Donald and Robert, her sisters Maureen and Joan, and her son Nicholas.

She is survived by her daughters Patricia Crescenzo Blank (Christopher) and Karen Cescenzo Heslin (David); her sons Michael Crescenzo (Susan), Peter Crescenzo (Paula), David Crescenzo (Kathy), Daniel Crescenzo (Helen); her grandchildren Karen, Kevin, Kathleen, Michael, Thomas, Nicholas, Maria, Steven, Jonathan; and her great granddaughter Lucy Maura.

Guestbook

  1. candleTo my Beloved Cousins –
I am so very sorry for your loss. Both our Moms were made of special stuff – brave and loving women. They were best friends as well as sisters. I know my Mom is waiting for her with a hot cup of coffee. Love you all.

  2. Love Aunt Carole’s smile in the photo. This is how I remember her – always with a smile. I have a fond memory of a family picnic discussing Pink Floyd’s The Wall album with her. I thought she was so cool. Wishing you all peace and warm memories.

  3. candleDearest cousins, how blessed you were to have Aunt Carole as a Mother.
I know the pain you are feeling now and hurt for you.
Be consoled in knowing her beautiful spirit lives on in each of you.
You have only to look in each other’s eyes to see her again.
    With love and prayers,
    Linda

  4. Dear Cousins,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I will always remember Aunt Carole as a lovely, strong woman who approached life’s challenges with warmth, love, and humor. One tough cookie. That she loved you all so is apparent in all the beautiful images of her with you. I wish you all peace and comfort in your memories.
