Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Daddy my dear Father-in-law
I’m so grateful for a Loving Father-in-law who had continually shown his Kindness to me over the 30 Years that I became a member of his Family. His Love of a Father & Grand Father to us I would forever treasured in my Heart.
Dad Rejoice in the Presence of your Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ as you Rest in his Loving Arms.
    Rozanne (Keith’s Wife)

  2. Grandpa, I’ll miss you always. I think fondly of the memories we had growing up, playing at your house, seeing you on random grocery runs, and going to church with you on your birthday. I hope the light welcomed you in with open arms and that you rest peacefully forevermore.
    Your grandbaby, Amanda.

  3. “If tears could build a stairway,
    and memories a lane.
I would walk right up to Heaven
    and bring you back again.

    No farewell words were spoken,
    No time to say “Goodbye”.
You were gone before I knew it,
    and only God knows why.

My heart still aches with sadness,
    and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to love you –
    No one can ever know.

But now I know you want me
    to mourn for you no more;
To remember all the happy times
life still has much in store.

    Since you’ll never be forgotten,
    I pledge to you today~
A hollowed place within my heart
    is where you’ll always stay.“

My Grandpa: My world, My hero, My Clint Eastwood, My Sinatra, My Eddie Murphy,
My Best friend and Buddy for everything, My confidant, My protector, My sandwich king, My favorite person to watch anything with, My comforter and now my reminder that God’s love knows no bounds. Thank you for everything that you’ve done in your life and the many wonderful things you’ve taught me.
God knows I prayed to keep you forever but I also prayed for your peace and now you have that. I love you and I miss you. You made me feel like the most beautiful and brilliant girl in the world and no one could ever take your place in my heart, so I promise to hold tightly to our memories together and every day for the rest of my life will be to honor you.

& to my loving family may God fill us with unconditional love that will gives us the strength to get through this unusual time together but apart and peace which surpasses all understanding. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

    All my love,

    Shy

  4. My Sincere condolences to Nelly and Donna and Nadie , Renee , Rico and family , Chris and family. And my own Keith , Rozan and Shyee. And other family members .
My prayers are with you all that our God of All Comfort will comfort and give you His Peace deep within as you grieve and mourn with the blessed Assurance of eternal rest on the Saviour’s breast for His children .
Roy ‘s greatest choice in life was when he embraced the Cross of Jesus Christ. I will remember his joyful spirit and his jokes and laughter ,
But most of all Roy gave me a wonderful son Keith and I gave him my daughter . He became a father to Rozan and he loved , protected and shielded her and Shyee my granddaughter with his whole life . I never had one day to think if My child in a different country was ok. Rare do daughters in law have that relationship with a father in law . But his heart was so humble and caring and loving and trusting. Shyee he spoiled her badly but she was his world. And I thank God for Keith , intelligent and God fearing young man of integrity, who inherited the same charms from his dad. Roy and my family had a very good relationship and I am happy I visited and spent time last summer at the nursing home with you We talked, laughed and we also prayed . Now you are face to face with your Redeemer and Saviour. Rest In Peace my brother. Enjoy your eternal rest . One day we shall meet on the other shore .
Nelly you and the family are in my prayers .The Grace of our Lord Jesus , the Love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit comfort and keep you all now and always.
    Guen ( Rozan’s mom)

  5. My dad had the greatest sense of humor ever, even my mom had issues with it… I have to say that I had no choice because I am genetically predisposed. Dad I will miss you, sometimes more than others.

    Love,

    Keith

    I love you daddy!!! Renita.

  9. To my dear Uncle Roy, it was an honour to have you as my eldest uncle. You were an inspiration to us all and truly a class act: a wise, well manored gentleman and you always had a funny story to tell. You were there to witness my first steps as a child (as you told the story in this picture at our wedding) and as an adult I looked forward to visiting with you and we bonded over your stories living in Europe. Even though you are no longer with us your memory will not be forgotten. Love from your Bernard/Korber family in Canada.

  10. My Good husband,
You were very patient and reliable. Thank you for happily taking me where ever I needed to go. I will miss making your favorite things and seeing how much you enjoyed watching Gunsmoke for hours. I always admired you for your travels, the music you liked and how handsomely you dressed for church. It always made me happy to see you with our children and grandchildren.
I prayed for you every day and every night and now God has called you home to be at peace.
I will cherish your memory always.

    With admiration,
    Your wife

  11. My Dear Father
No matter what you had going on you would always find a way to be there for me and the ones you loved. Thank you very everything and for being a good father.
Rest In Peace and I will miss you very much.

    Love,
    Your daughter, Donna

  12. There are so many wonderful memories that I will cherish always, Daddy. You were an amazing father and I will never love another human being as much as I loved you. Thank you for everything you did.

  13. First I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to Nellie, kids and extended family.
“Roy” as he was fondly known was like an uncle to me. Rather, I would like to remember him in his prime as the “cool” uncle. Going way back to our Guyana roots, the Bernard’s lived across the street from the Beete’s (my grandparents). We weren’t just neighbors, we were family. We enjoyed great camraderie and togetherness. On our side there was Wilfred “Steam”, Auntie Marie, Aunt Rose, Alban “Shelon”, my brother Wilford, Raul, and last but not least, yours truly. On the Bernard’s side there were three generations as well. Uncle Sonna, Auntie Hannah, Roy, Nellie and kids…Rico, Donna, Keith, Nadia and Renee.
Roy Bernard was a quiet gentleman of few words, except for the occasional jokes with the guys, or when he needed to put the fear of God into the kids for something they might have done 🙂 He was a loving family man and husband. His relaxing moments in Middle Road, LaPenitence were spent leaning on the gate with his cigarette, looking left and right, surveying the neighborhood. Then my grandfather would shout out to him, “Hey Roy, I see you looking at dem girls!” To be followed with “I gon tell Nellie!” Then Roy would respond with laughter in his deep baratone voice.
I remember those days like it was yesterday, wishing we could turn back the hands of time. But of course, life is a circle of time. Uncle Sonna, Auntie Hannah, Steam, Auntie Marie, Aunt Rose, Shelon, and my brother Wilford, have all completed their circle. Sadly, Roy’s circle of time on this earth too is now complete. One day we will all be reunited in heaven. Oh what a rejoicing that will be! Just like old times, even better.
Rest In Peace Roy, until we meet again.

    Saigee
(On behalf of my husband Philip Smith, kids, Alyssa and Dietra)

  14. Our heartfelt condolences to the this wonderful family ; Nelly, my dearest Brother in law Keith , my sister Rozan and sweet niece Shyee, Donna, Nadie , Renee , Rico and family , Chris and family and other family members. Sending love and prayers. May God and the caring love and thoughts from others help you to get through your sorrow. May you find rest and comfort in the love and hope of God, and others that surround you. My prayer is that you feel God’s love and comfort as you mourn the loss of your loved one.

Dearest Daddy ( as a result of everyone one else calling him Daddy) Roy, we were truly blessed to know you. As you embraced Rozan as a daughter, you also extended that love to her family. You expressed so much love, it was easy to love you back.
My fondest memory of you is with Shyee and Tiff, going to the park, fishing or buying ice cream and you would all return smudged and happy. When I think of you I reflect on how you were always present. Giving all of your attention and being in the moment. Always willing to help others and loved your church family. Your love for others reflected the heart of the Father, you knew how much Jesus loved you and that made it easy for you to share that same love with others.
Safe in the arms of Jesus, Safe on His gentle breast, There by His love o’ershaded, Sweetly your soul doth rest.
    Love,
    Sharon, Mostaff, Tiffany and Matthew

  15. Dear Nellie and family, we extend our heartfelt condolences as you all grieve the loss of husband, father and grandfather.
May God grant you all comfort and peace as you celebrate the life of Roy.
John 14:2 “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, i would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
    With Love , Chang-Soon family

  16. My deepest condolences to the entire Bernard family. I’m sorry for your loss. Please stay safe through this pandemic.

  17. To Auntie Nellie and Family,
Thinking about you all on this unfortunate occasion.
We just want you to know that Uncle Roy was one of our best uncles ever!
    Our Condolences, Martin and Family

  18. My heart felt condolences and prayers to my cousins Keith, Chris, Nadia and Rene and to auntie. May the peace of God be with you as you go through these moments

  19. To my aunt Nellie and all my cousins. My heart goes out to you all during this time. Uncle Roy was cool and awesome. Remember him taking us all to drive ins as kids and we washing his car, so much fun memories. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds – Psalms 147:3”. Lets remember “Weeping may last through the night but JOY comes in the morning – Psalms 30:5”.
Peace and love to you all. God Bless.
