Calogero (Charlie) Bilello, was born in Brooklyn New York on February 16, 1930. He was the oldest of three brothers born to Maria and Barney Bilello. His younger brother Leonard Bilello, died in 2010 and is survived by his youngest brother Frank.
In June 1955 Charlie married Rosalie Grimaldi. Sometime after that, they moved to Richmond Hill, Queens, where they had their two children, Charles and Maryann. Charlie was employed in the commercial insurance business for the entirety of his career at several insurance brokerage firms. He retired in 1994.
His true passion in life, however, was his family. Nothing brought Charlie more joy than spending time with his wife and his two children. Countless photographs at countless places document this fact.
Charlie loved music. He was an accomplished guitar and bass player and played (Giggs) early in his life at various catering halls, and other venues , he enjoyed spending Sundays having a big meal with his family and then listening to some of the old standards. He would frequently comment (this is a nice arrangement) while listening to some of the big bands play on his record player. He loved baseball. The Yankees became his favorite pastime on a Sunday afternoon, either listening to the game on the radio in the backyard, or watching it on television.
Charlie was a gentleman, easy-going and easy to be around with a keen sense of humor and a quick wit. It was rare to see him without a smile on his face. He loves to prank people, especially those closest to him. Many many victims could attest to this fact. Especially his wife and two children.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalie, having been married almost 68 years, his two children, Charles and Maryann and his four grandchildren whom he adored, Francesca, Robert, Anthony, and Kelly
By all accounts, he was just an all-around great guy and will be missed by those who loved him.
