  1. Corrado, you were a strong wonderful man and you will be sorely missed! My thoughts and prayers are with you always!

  2. Corrado was my grandfather- how lucky am I to have been his only grandchild? He was a ray of sunshine and the most charismatic person I know. He is also where I get my dimples from. He had a lifetime of incredible stories, some so shocking you’d think they were from a movie. He was an orphan from a young age and when he was 9 years old he saw his younger brother get hit by a truck as they were crossing the street, leaving him with alone. In spite of all the hardships he faced at a young age, he always had a smile on his face. He escaped the war in a row boat he built himself- sneaking away parts of the boat little by little from his day job as a merchant marine until he fled in the middle of the night setting sail on a dangerous 3 day journey across the Adriatic. Always brave, always an adventurer. He sailed across the world working on ships until he eventually made a life for himself in America where he settled down to spend a beautiful and long life with my grandmother and their two children in New York City, my mom and my uncle. After retirement, they moved to Long Island and helped raise me. He was a carpenter his whole life and could fix anything. He made me a treehouse in the backyard and a literal pirate ship from scratch. He bought a small patch of property in Rocky Point and built his summer home from scratch. It was right by the water- his favorite place. He loved swimming, fishing, spending time on the beach and anything nautical. The only thing he might have loved more than the ocean is other people. He was Mr. Social, and enjoyed the last few years of his life at Leisure Village. He had so many friends there, always going to the clubhouse, playing pool, cards, and always chatting people up. I’m so grateful to have had him in my life because he really influenced who I am today and what I value. He is already so SO missed and will always be in our hearts

  3. In Corrado’s short time in Leisure Viilage he made many friends who valued their time with him. With deepest sympathy.

  4. Thinking of you durning this difficult time, take comfort in a life well lived, and the happy memories of your dad and grandfather that remain.

  5. With our deepest sympathy the Suero-Duque family. We will always remember Corrado with such joy, generosity, love and laughter.

  6. In Loving Memory of your dad Corrado Poglianich, weve planted these trees so his spirit may live on in beauty and strength

  7. I’ve only know Corrado for several months, but I hope my time spent with him made him as happy as he made me.He was a master storyteller and had a great sense of humor. I will miss him and his smiling face.Rest in peace my friend . Elaine
