  1. candleOur hearts are truly broken to hear about the loss of our cousin Danny. He was always so fun & loved when we could get together. Our prayers of strength go out to my dear cousin Paula as well as Rory, Sarah and the family. My heart ♥️ is doubly broken that I can’t fly out to be by Paula’s side. RIP Danny, you will always live on in our hearts.

  2. candleDan was such a joy to work with at The New York Times. I was blessed to have known him and I’d like to offer my deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

  3. candleSol and I were so sad to hear of Dan’s passing, our dear friend and former co-worker. Though I did not work directly with Dan, I’ve always held great esteem for his devotion to his staff, his lead position in Corporate Records and The New York Times Company. Sol and Dan worked very closely together and as a result, over the years, I was fortunate to spend more time with Dan and his wonderful wife, Paula. It was so easy to see how devoted they were to each other.

A highlight of each year was the holiday get-together that Sol and I spent with Dan and Paula at Ruth Chris Steak House. Those get-togethers always brought out Dan’s great sense of humor and appreciation for spending time with friends. As each year moved into another, there were many occasions to enjoy the company of Dan and Paula, and those memories will brighten our sadness from his passing.

Paula, throughout the years, I have treasured your friendship. It is my hope and prayer that you, and all of Dan’s family and friends, will find comfort in the wonderful spirit that Dan leaves behind. May you keep memories of the good times, the laughter, the smile, the hugs and comfort that was in full view during Dan’s time with us. In doing so, may the best memories of Dan’s spirit live on in your hearts and minds.

A special thanks to Rory ( nephew) for trying to keep us in the loop on how Dan and Paula were doing.

    With Love,
    Brenda

  6. candleNever forget when you took me to a GIANT GAME for my 65 bday!
Great memories! We will miss you! RIP dear cousin!

  7. candleI have many wonderful memories working with Dan at The New York Times. I will always remember him
as having a sunny temperament and a wonderful gift of making friends. Rest in peace Dan.

  8. I worked with Dan at The New York Times for many years. He was a great to work with and became a good friend. He had a great sense of humor, a love of life and the people he was with. We enjoyed a number of dinners and other social events. There truly is a great citizen in heaven. Neil Fitzpatrick

  9. Dan was one of the earliest people I met working at NYT Corporate. Not only was he cheerful and welcoming, but extraordinarily helpful while having fun doing so. Danny’s keen observations saved a number of us much time and moved us along the learning curve so smoothly, we didn’t even realize he was doing so.
A beautiful temperament and a real gentleman to remember. May his memory be for a blessing.

  10. Danny’s knowledge, kindness and great sense of humor made every project we worked on a little easier. It was a pleasure to have known him. Maureen and I send our sincerest condolences to his family. May the road rise up to meet you, Danny.

  11. candleI have nothing but happy memories of working with Big Dan! We spent many a late night putting together Board books and Dan would regale us with stories from the “old” days. He made working hard a lot of fun! I learned so much from Dan, not only about the history of The New York Times but also about being a good human being. He was great guy who cared deeply about his family and colleagues. He will forever be remembered and loved. Rest in peace, Big Dan xo

  12. candleDan, who retired as the Director of Corporate Records was a great friend and an outstanding manager whose successful career spanned the decades in The Times building at 229 West 43rd Street – when the Publisher’s office was on 14, the pressroom in the basement, the delivery trucks in the bays – and the company’s records took up numerous filing cabinets throughout the building. Dan was instrumental in laying the foundation for the computerization of the company’s recordkeeping system. Working with Dan was great fun and he contributed to the success of many employees, from those in the mailroom to corporate officials. Brenda and I were blessed to have had the pleasure of having an annual dinner with Dan and Paula when they came into New York City to see a show and have dinner at their favorite restaurant. We will miss Dan and extend our heartfelt condolences to Paula and his family.

  13. candleTo the McGlynn Family, I was saddened to hear of Mr. McGlynn’s passing. Though we only met a few times, he always showed me great respect, kindness and appreciation. It was truly a pleasure to have worked with him. Wishing you peace and comfort in the days ahead.

    Warm regards,

    Fabiana Dunne and family.

  14. So many wonderful gatherings, at family BBQ’s spent at Danny and Paula’s home. Lots of love and laughter. Danny was always a top notch host that made sure that everyone was having a great time. So sorry for your loss, Paula. Loving thoughts are with you now and always. Thanks for the memories. Danny
    Love,
    Frances Riccobono

  15. candleI worked with Dan during my formative years at The New York Times Company. He was a wonderful colleague and friend, from whom I learned so much about the work, the Company and life, always with his wonderful sense of humor and kindness. He kept a filled candy jar in his office, to easily welcome others in. That and his bag of Beanie Babies made him a huge favorite with my daughter and other children, when they came to visit our 43rd Street offices. I also admired his strong devotion to Paula and his family, to whom I send my deepest condolences. Rest in peace, Dan.

  16. I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Dan. He was my first boss when I started working straight from high school. He took me on first as a summer intern and then hired me as a temp all throughout the rest of high school and college. Everything I know today, I owe to him. He was not only my boss but a true friend and even though we lost touch, I never forgot how he took me under his wing. I am so sorry Paula and family for your loss. I pray for comfort and peace during this difficult time. RIP Dan

  17. Big Dan had a big heart and was so much fun to work with. Each year at Christmas he hosted all the Legal Dept admins to a long lunch at Carmines; I had been at NYT only one week when I joined my first lunch. Thank you, d friend.
