To Our Family and Loved Ones,

We are writing to share the devastating news that our beloved sister and daughter Debbie Daring passed away on Sunday night. Debbie was one-of-a-kind: a loyal friend, a dedicated teacher, a fantastic cook, a free-spirited truth-teller and the life-of-the-party. She was as loud and funny as she was gentle and loving. Her sudden passing has left a hole in our hearts.

On Friday, June 30, from 3 to 6 pm, we will hold a memorial service to honor Debbie at the Branch Funeral Home at 2115 Jericho Turnpike in Commack. Please come and share your favorite Debbie stories (we know you all have some).

Ms. Daring was an awesome teacher and she made reading fun by using different voices for the different characters. You could tell she loved what she did and loved our daughter as “she couldn’t say anything bad about Noelle”. Our daughter said she was very happy she was able to hug her goodbye at the end of the school year and that Ms. Daring came back to see her final class off.

Ms. Daring was an amazing teacher and a wonderful person. I am so happy Ava had you as her 4th grade teacher. She loved you so much! We are so happy we were able to see you on the last day of school. Our deepest condolences go out to your family. Ms. Daring was a 2nd grade teacher to our daughter for the 2011/2012 school year. She made such an impact on Alexandra, that she kept in touch with her all through the rest of her school years and most recently helped her clean out her class room. Debbie was so generous, and kind, and had best wicked humor and will be greatly missed.

Girls trips, beach days, book club, pokeno, dinners, parties, and everything else will forever have a hole in them. Your students are so fortunate to have had you as their teacher and we all are so blessed to have had you in our lives. I will miss you so much!

Ms. Daring, you were an amazing teacher for me in 3rd grade. You made school fun, even though it was virtual. My brother, Aariz, had you in 1st grade. You will be missed so much and I am kind of glad 2023 is over because you died and so did my best friend Sienna. I will never forget your funny personality and how you would find a solution for every problem. Rest in peace, Ms. Daring.
