Deirdre, You truly were an angel sent from God to put joy in so many lives. Rest in Peace sweet lady. Love Jane, Duncan and Alex MacDonald.
Love
Aunt Christine
Her life was a blessing, her memory is a treasure, she is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure, Deirdre was one in a million and I feel really lucky I got to make some wonderful memories with her. Wherever her spirit has ended up all I have to say is, watch out our girl is a handful but you’re in store for a lot of laughs.
Dear Deirdre, My beautiful, sweet, kind, and fun friend. I will never forget all of our laughs and our adventures. Growing up with you was so much fun. You were always down for anything and we created so many memories that I will never forget.
From Busch Gardens, North Carolina, Fire Island, and so many more. My heart is broken for your entire family. You were truly one of the kindest and non-judgmental souls I have ever met. May God bless Spencer, Jack, Luke and Brooke during this difficult time. You loved & adored your family so much and I must say you raised a beautiful family with Spencer. I will love and miss you forever. Rest in Peace Dee.
Rest Easy
Her brother Daniel said, as little girl Deirdre was always smiling and giggling, she had that smile on her face at all times.
She loved people and would make friends wherever she went.
Deirdre was open, easy going, and sincere. This innate quality to make people feel welcome and special, shined throughout her life. Her happiness was contagious, she had such a tremendous spirit and soul.
Deirdre always knew she that she wanted to be a mom. As a young girl she took care of, and babysat her brother, Daniel. She also worked at Babylon Child Care center when she was in her early 20’s and until this day, she is remembered by her former employer and friend, Anne Benedetto, as “A sweet young thing who was kind and great with the children.” I loved having had the opportunity to be a small part of her life” she added.
Deirdre also worked as an in home nanny and loved doing that as well. Being a mom and raising children was her absolute dream job and it was obvious that she was born to excel at it.
In the late 1990’s she met her soul mate and husband Spencer, who, in fact, happens to share the same birthday and birth hospital as Deirdre. They had so much fun together and were the perfect balance.
In 1999 her dream of becoming a mom came true, her first child was born. By 2003 she had 3 amazing children….Jack who is now 25, Luke, 23, and Brooke 21. Deirdre was the most dedicated, loving, and selfless person…and those qualities are what made her such an amazing wife and mother.
They also made her the best daughter, granddaughter, sister, sister in law, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, and neighbor.
There was nothing in this world more important to her than family. She loved attending her children’s field trips. One of her children’s former teachers recently said, “I loved when Deirdre would accompany the class trips bc we would have so much fun.”
Deirdre was a caring, compassionate, and selfless friend to all. She enjoyed cracking jokes, busting chops, laughing…and found humor in all situations.
I know our family will miss the silly times the most. Doing goofy things like taking fully clothed photos in the shower and having a race outside in the cold, on Christmas night. I know everyone will miss their time with her dearly as well.
Her laugh was contagious and her gift of gab, was truly endearing.
As Jack, Luke, and Brooke grew older, it was no surprise that Deirdre opened her house up to her kids’ friends…welcoming them as her own, which she loved and had a ball doing.
Her love for animals was huge. She was such a loving mommy to many doggies over the years .
Deirdre enjoyed sitting out on her high deck, playing with her dogs… often having conversations with passerby’s, and in doing so developed sweet relationships with the neighbors.
We know Deirdre is watching over all of us. Not wanting grief but the continuation of family, fun, and joy. Even through her pain near the end, her main concern and worry was not focused on herself, but on Spencer and her children.
I know that Deirdre has many loving arms wrapped around her in Heaven.
Our families ask, that everyone will pray DEEPLY for Spencer, Jack, Luke, and Brooke, to have trust and faith that Deirdre/their mom will be forever beside them, every step of the way, through all of life’s future journeys.
