  3. I just wanted you to know how deeply saddened I was to hear of my good friend’s passing, Don was great person and a cherished friend, truly one of a kind. I will cherish my great memories of our time working at Boar’s head together. I still remember as if it were yesterday he would say his famous phrases, “Oooo I’m rooting for you!!!, and “I’m on your side!!!, and many more. God, please embrace Him on your throne, as it was your will to take him with you, and lead his family to overcome this irremediable lost.

  5. Don was a good friend. It saddens me to here of his passing. It was a pleasure to work with him for over 18years at Boars Head. Sending thoughts and Prayers to his Family and Friends .

  6. There are no words for the sadness we feel losing our friend and best neighbor Don. We are heartbroken. He taught us what it meant to be a great neighbor-always there with a laugh and smile. He was the epitome of kindness. Our children will miss yelling to him from the kitchen window to tell him some silly story from their day or pulling over in the car to catch up on the neighborhood gossip. Our thoughts and prayers go to Yoli and his children and grandchildren. Don will be greatly missed.Oz, Amanda, Sammy and Sofia Celikors

  7. I have many memories of Don from my childhood. Family dinners during the holidays at the home he shared with Yolanda, Chrissy & Liz or at our house, or my Aunt Nanette and Uncle Matt’s. In each of those images in my mind’s eye I hear Donald’s laugh and the boisterous exchanges he shared with my uncle, sometimes too much for my young ears. He and my uncle gave me a glimpse of what friendship was to adults, fun and filled with subtle references to moments they shared over the years of their relationship. Though I didn’t appreciate it then, I took note and hoped that I could have a friend like they each had and I am happy to say that I do. I was so saddened when I heard the news of Don’s passing and wanted to send my deepest sympathies to Yolanda and the entire extended Sarlo family. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and will continue to be as you move through the challenging days ahead.

  8. We were so deeply saddened to hear the terrible news and in shock at this loss of such a wonderful person who always had a huge smile on his face. It was always such a pleasure to see and talk to him at family functions and the ones he attended for our family as well. We got the privilege to see the wonderful husband and father he was and still can’t believe he will no longer be here. Our hearts ache and we grieve for Mrs. Sarlo, Cris, Liz and their entire family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers and we are here if you need anything at all. Heaven has gained another angel!! All our love during this extremely difficult time…….. XOXOXOXO

  15. candleI worked with Don at Boar’s Head about 20 years ago. I worked there for 12 years in the accounts receivable department, starting in 1990. I was just sending a birthday card to a friend in Rocky Point, and thought of Don and searched his name just to see if he and my friend lived near each other, maybe they knew each other too. Was so sad to see that he had passed away a few years ago. Don was funny, always upbeat. His classic line was “why can’t we all just get along”. I saw him every day as I left work, usually when I was purchasing some product to take home. I send my sympathy to his family and friends.
