Loving father of Thomas Nolan, James (Joanne) Nolan, John (Nancy) Nolan, Kevin Nolan and the late Julie Nolan. Adored step-father of Steven (Rabia) Ericson and Melissa (Michael) McCabe. Cherished pop-pop of Joseph, Kathleen, Shannon, Erin, Chelsey, Michael, Cameron, Patrick and Treasa. Reposing at the Branch Funeral Home, 190 East Main Street, Smithtown, NY 11787. Visiting Saturday 7:00 - 9:00 PM and Sunday 12:00 - 3:00 PM. Funeral service at the funeral home Monday 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at St. James Episcopal Cemetery, St. James, NY www.branchfh.com

Dr. Peter J. Nolan, beloved Professor of Physics for nearly fifty years, passed away on January 24th, 2020.Dr. Nolan embodied the spirit of the Physics Department, and the spirit of Farmingdale State College. He will be missed by us all.

Peter was such a wonderful man. I had the pleasure of knowing him during my 28 years at Farmingdale. Peter and Barbara traveled with my Farmingdale group all over Europe, Morroco, and Russia. We had such wonderful experiences together. I can still see the lovely smile on his face and sparkle in his eye in experiencing the wonders we encountered. Of course all captured with his video camera😊 I am a better person having known Peter. May Peter rest in peace in the arms of Barbara and Jesus.Sincerely, Susan Mathes
