Drew A. Urquhart, born a rising entrepreneur, owned his own lucrative landscaping business at the age of twenty-one. Since then he owned and managed multiple enterprises in both Nassau and Suffolk counties. His business ventures spread across his skills in carpentry, landscaping, construction, handyman, dry cleaners, nail salons, candy store, window company, barber shop. Most recently his businesses included a roofing company, Tattoo and smoke shop. Drew believed in being his own boss.

Being a Boss was only one side of his persona. Drew never stopped helping the elderly and homeless providing them with food, clothing and free services. He enjoyed keeping up multiple family gravesites for every season. His expertise (resources and hands-on training) helped many family and friends fulfill their career and educational goals into their own business ventures. Blessing many at their time of need was his nature. He will be missed…….

Drew Urquhart was born on October 26,1960 in the East Meadow Hospital to the late Bertram and Mary Alice Urquhart. He was the seventh of nine siblings. Drew resided most of his life in Nassau County where he met and married his beloved wife over forty years ago. He is survived by his wife, Yadira and children he loved dearly Tatiana (Courtney) Wilson, Christopher, and youngest Sydney. Survived by the grandchildren he loved even more Je’din, Je’sielle, Cairo, Caiomi, Syann. He is also survived by siblings Bertram (Regina), Janice (John) Barden, Kenneth (Juanita), Karen (Greg) Solomon, Dale (Angie) and Michelle (Cara). Preceded in death by brothers Kevin (Jacqueline) and George. In addition, Drew is survived by many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and extended relatives.

    It’s your niece Kayla and I just want to share some memories that I have of you when I stayed in New York for a summer when I was 13. I remember one night we were in the living room and we stayed up talking to 6am and I don’t remember everything that was said but what stayed with me is that you told me I Can make it in life! That I was smart & Different & Special. A 13 year d Girl needed to hear that from who she deemed to be Successful. I’m in absolute shock that this has happen because I know so much more life was supposed to be had. I pray your Family and friends. I will do everything in my power to Pray for them, Be there for them in this time of loss. Your impact has reached so many. Anyone who has talk to you will walk away from any conversations with you motivated to make things happen in their own lives. I love you and Know your in peace and with our lord & savior.
