His mother in furs, next to a car (a great luxury in the early ’20s) if you ever see them the the unidentified woman was their maid/nanny.His father William owned much of the town of Freeport and was devloping neighborhoods where the once was nothing.when Eddie was around 3 his mother died of a brain tumor. When the great depression came in 1929 his father lost everything, Eventually becoming homeless and standing in soup lines.Eddie ended up in the notorious Brooklyn Home.He ran away at 16 and lied about his age to join the Navy at the start of World War 2.While one time in NY he saw as he described the prettiest girl he’d ever seen.He wrote her many letters from Guam. On another leave they marred moved to Charleston where their fist daughter Margaret was born. Arproxametly 8 yrs later bought a home in North Babylon for $10.000.00.
