Enrique "Henry" Velez, Jr.

Henry was born in Harlem Hospital, NYC, Son of Enrique Velez and Malen Nigaglioni. He is Survived by former wife Colleen Velez, his son Patrick Velez, his daughter Maria Elena Mazza and his grandchildren Kristofer Velez, Patrick Velez Jr and Kyle Mazza.

Henry Velez was multilingual. He Graduated from Cathedral College and attended St. Joseph’s Seminary. A member of Sigma Delta Pi, national honor society and graduated Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from City College where he majored in Languages. He also attended Colgate University. He received an MA from City College and Stony Brook University with a major in Foreign Languages specifically Spanish and Latin. Henry had the following certifications: Teacher of Spanish, Latin, French and Social Studies.

Henry taught in Bellport School District for a couple of years,Three Village School District for 31 years and St. Joseph’s College for 15 years.The strong impact he made on his students is evident by numerous testimonials.
