Ernestine Niland, aged 71, of Commack, NY, formerly of South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene Niland, and together they shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Ernestine was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Stephanie Colbert and her husband Ronald, Jacquline Gilchrist, Jeremy and his wife Jessica.
Family was at the core of Ernestine’s life, and she reveled in the joy of being a grandmother. Her grandchildren, Bria, Tina, Jasmine, and Jessi, brought immense happiness to her world. She delighted in their laughter, accomplishments, and special moments shared together.
Ernestine’s caring nature extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a cherished sister to Jackie Jones and Louis Jones. She treasured the bond they shared and the memories they created throughout the years. Ernestine was preceded in death by loving family members; her parents, Lorane and Mary Jones and her siblings Jimmy, Lavern and Mildred Jones.
Ernestine will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and the unconditional love she bestowed upon her family and friends. She possessed a gentle spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy of compassion and love will continue to inspire.
Ernestine had a special love for music, her favorite given gift and talent was writing songs. During her life, Ernestine made a positive impact on those around her, leaving a lasting impression of kindness and generosity. While she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
As we bid farewell to Ernestine Niland, let us celebrate her remarkable life and the indelible imprint she left on this world. May she find eternal peace and be forever remembered with love and gratitude.
