Frank M. Capuano, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025,
Born on January 21, 1933, in Flushing Hospital, Frank was raised in Corona, NY, where he developed a passion for learning and creativity. A graduate from Newtown High School, Frank excelled in math and science but was known for his natural talent for art.
At 18, Frank was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Stationed in Germany as a Company Clerk, Frank’s artistic talents found their way into his military service when he created artwork for his company’s division baseball team cards. After being honorably discharged in 1955, Frank returned home, it was then that he met the love of his life, Marlene.
In July 1956, Frank married Marlene, and together they enjoyed 61 wonderful years of marriage. They moved to Huntington in 1969, where they raised their children.
In 2001, after retiring, Frank and Marlene moved to Leisure Glen, where Frank became a figure in the community, running the local TV station for many years. In 2021, Frank relocated to Jefferson’s Ferry, where he continued to make new friendships and was well known by all.
Frank had a remarkable talent for fixing anything—whether it was a washing machine, computer, or anything in between, neighbors and friends were always seeking his help. He took great pride in being there for others and was always happy to lend a hand.
Later in life, Frank rediscovered his love for painting. Using his artistic talents, he created portraits of every member of his family, each displayed proudly throughout his home. He cherished his role as a father, grandfather, and friend, and his family was the greatest source of pride in his life.
Frank is survived by his children Carol (Harold) and Robert (Linda), his cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Jacob and Robert as well as his two brothers, George and Carmine. He was predeceased by his love Marlene, to which they are now reunited looking over the beautiful family they have made.
